Hopefully people can email Merging request this

Otherwise they might assume everyone is happy with 4 bands EQ

I doubt they read here

I see what you are saying but Offering the same EQ bands as Anubis won't stop someone that is interested in monitors

One is speakers and one is interface.

You can offer 24 bands so people can use with headphones, and still use Neumann DSP monitors with MA1 room correction
I’ve too agree with you on this and would be surprised if Neumann did the restriction on purpose because of DSP in some monitors.

That’s one more PEQ that RME have in their audio interfaces, not including the low-cut. :)

It's just a processor power thing but it shows how much processing power is inside Anubis and Neumman for 24 bands per channel

Neumann need to unlock this

...while not cheap (1995€)

Manufacturer's specs:

Equivalent Input Noise (150 Ohm)-128 dBu-A
Input Impedance10 kΩ
Gain Range12…+78 dB in 0.5 dB steps or 0.1 dB (fine)
Pad12 dB/24 dB
Max. Input Level0 /+12/+24 dBu (without Pad/with Pad)
THD + N Preamp + ADC @ 1 kHz, 0 dBFS< -110 dB (0.0003%)
Line Inputs 1-2:
Dynamic Range138.5 dB-A
Input Impedance10 kΩ
Gain Range0…+66 dB
Sensitivity+24 dBu…-42 dBu
Max. Input Level+24 dBu
THD + N Preamp + ADC @ 1 kHz, 0 dBFS< -105 dB (0.0006%)
Instrument/Line Inputs 3 - 4:
Dynamic Range135 dB-A

Line/Monitor Outputs:
Output Impedance< 70 Ω
THD+N@ 1 kHz, 0 dBFS< -110 dB (0.0003%)
Dynamic Range123 dB-A
Max. Output Level+24 dBu
Headphone Outputs:
Output Impedance0.035 Ω
Dynamic Range122 dB-A (high) / 117 dB (low)
Max. Output Level+16 dBu (high) /+8 dBu (low)
AES67/RavennaStandard RJ-45 Gigabit-Ethernet-Anschluss
Expansion Connectivity"ADAT/S/PDIF optical I/O, MIDI I/O via 1/4” jack, (DIN5 adapter set available from Neumann: Cat. No.700261)"
Computer InterfaceUSB-C, 2.0 High Speed (480 MB/s) or higher
Power Consumption<25 W
Looks similar to RME UFX III Specs.
It would be interesting to see them both measured here.

But I wonder why they use 1/4" jack for GPIO/Midi.
I'm pretty sure people will plug audio in there by mistake and vice versa.
Let's hope that won't break anything.

I just get hands on the MT48 Demo unit in my local dealer, and solved some of my questions.

1. It can support merging MAD and can follow the sample rate from PC netport just like Anubis, but need some advance settings.
But I have frequently pop when playing music, maybe caused by the Realtek nic, no further investigation here.
2. USB can use by iPhone with cam kit, combine with 1 MT48 could stream audio between iPhone/iPad and PC.
For android, sorry, no luck.
3.DSP can used on any input except USB. So using loop back with ADAT or Network could have more bands if must. But the dynamic alloc will be better if Neumann can do that.

For short, it could be a more extensible Anubis Pro, but the firmware is limiting it at now.
I think I will get one, and wait Neumann polishing the firmware.

Can DSP be applied to the outputs?
At now you have to bind output to some mixer, the output DSP is bind to these 8 mixer.
From Neumann faq, you can map a AES67 direct to output, but that means bypass dsp.I don't verify it since I need mixer anyway.

To what extent can the NT 48 integrate with the MA1? Can it act as a crossover for non Neumann subs or speakers?

Seems a pretty powerful interface in many ways, waiting for more reveals. Hope Neumann will not do too excessively on limiting functions just for people to buy other products in the same eco, such as removing the embedded SoundID Reference, and the EQ thing mentioned before.

Do you have a Cosmos ADC, to do measurements ?
No, I have an Antelope Orion Studio sc, may test it using RMAA with different loop types. If you know other better tools, please tell me.
But will focusing on the function first. Neumann has release firmware ver1.5 now, but for my test it's still lacking some critial function for monitoring and needs work arounds.
It won't be a big bother if it's AD/DA not very state of art (I think it will definite not match chifi DAC, but for ADC I don't know).

Finally received on July 24, already done a box-opening and comparison with Merging+Anubis Pro on bilibili.
