I have been trying to find a C52 but may have found a C208...any opinions on how they both compare? Size is not an issue.
I would think not too many people would have heard them both...except Amir who has the C52 and tested the C208. Below is a comparison of the Estimated In Room Response of the C52/C208. It would seem they would be very similiar. In case you haven't seen this great resource yet:I have been trying to find a C52 but may have found a C208...any opinions on how they both compare? Thank you for that. They do look similar. I am receiving the RC263 today and have tested a LOT of centers so far. But I recall Amir stating how the C52 was a stepup from the RC263. I even considered ordering a Tekton Pendragon center but the lack of measurements scare me.I would think not too many people would have heard them both...except Amir who has the C52 and tested the C208. I have 3 under my screen and it is a really good speaker. Dialogue is crystal clear.Thank you for that. They do look similar. I am receiving the RC263 today and have tested a LOT of centers so far. I don't notice mine and it's farther away from the screen than I like. The closer the better - If you can place the speaker close to the screen, you will be happy. How is it at disappearing? By that I mean, I hate center speakers that call attention to the enclosure instead of projecting the sound so my brain can anchor it to the screen better. The 365c is good at it. Others like the C2+ was terrible at it. Others were in the middle like the SVS Ultra and 600c
I have a 122w screen and the one thing I have noticed with many center speakers is that the sounds appears to be coming from a speaker. I don’t get this at all with the C208. It disappears and appears to fill the width of the screen. How is it at disappearing? While not exact, you can do this on Pierre's site. With the data here, can someone create one of this 360 charts to see how it compares to the Monolith 365c and the RC263 please?
Thanks a lot! While not exact, you can do this on Pierre's site.

Let us knowThanks a lot!
I am receiving the C208 tomorrow so was just curious as I will be testing it vs the 365c and the RC263 to see if it blows me away enough to justify the price difference![]()
Will do!Let us know
Will do!
Ah yes. Quick summary...the C208 on its own sounds gorgeous but it does not blend well with the 590s unlike the THX or even better the RC263. "phantom" voices between center and right speaker, for example, had a sort of ethereal quality to it, almost out of phase sounding. That made the voices not really match with the on screen location very well and this is a 12' wide screen.
Thanks for the feedback. I hope the RC263 is produced again someday, I've been looking for months. Will probably go with a C208.Ah yes. I am going to try a jbl 570 with an AT screen next (cannot fit the bigger 580 or 590 as it will just keep pushing the screen forward too much of which the 570 will already be more than I wanted. ).
But very likely for my 590s, the winner is going to be the 263. But as I said, on its own, I prefer the C208 although not at the normal retail price as I dont think the difference in SQ is THAT huge as the price difference. Detail and almost a "live" feel to the sound is there on the C208 over the 263 and THX, but again, the price is difference is too much for the sound difference IMHO.
Hope that made some sense lol
It's a great low-cost center. I've been enjoying mine for several months now and couldn't be happier. Thanks for the feedback. I hope the RC263 is produced again someday, I've been looking for months. Will probably go with a C208.
Yes it is very good indeed and surprisingly good match for the 590s as to now be distracting when someone is talking panning from LR to center. A bit more "directional" than I like but not bad. The C208 and THX tend to project away from the box a bit better. Still not as bad as the horrible emotiva C2+ which is like constantly telling me..sound is coming from here! It's a great low-cost center. The back is 200mm high. But if you are planning on building some tight wedge shaped hole to place the speaker, then you need to consider that the bottom and top curve out and are 280mm high in the middle. (With the front being 300mm.) Plus, you have to account some space for some feet for the speaker etc..Can anyone that owns this speaker tell me the rear height dimension? The manual/specs only list the max height, (front of speaker), even though there is a substantial slope going towards the back of the speaker, making the rear height look to be at least several inches less.
