Is this really better than Kali IN8v2?
In terms of bass extension, it seems to be -- otherwise, not so much. The Kali is also quite a bit larger (8" woofer vs. 5") and considerably less expensive. FWIW, the company website quotes the price as "822 $" and not "US $700."

On par in price / performance, but so small, with front facing ports, bass and treble controls, no need for a separate amp etc. These will be perfect for so very many people. I think we are truly spoiled.

If you mean "PS Audio," Erin has reviewed their FR10: PS Audio aspen FR10 Tower Speaker Review

More likely @VSem is referring to PSI Audio, a Swiss boutique studio monitor manufacturer which staunchly believes in using tedious and expensive analog-based methods for linearising phase and time alignment. These have, believe it or not, even more of a cult of personality than ATC et al

Do you think the 05 Mk2 would measure much better with it’s dsp design?

Unfortunate because the Kali LP-6v2 is just as good but costs multiple times less

HEDD makes outstanding speakers, and in my opinion, these are the best 5" monitors on the market, with an impressive low-end extension for their size. They also made me fall in love with ribbon tweeters for the first time. If you ever read this—thank you, Heinz and Frederik, for a job exceptionally well done.

Looks very good. It's value priced, has very good directivity, can play full range and is an active monitor. It won't play super loud, but not 5" midwoofer based design will, so it's hard to take points away for that. Only thing, IMHO, is the distortion in the treble. I think 1.5% will be audible, and for me that would be the deal killer. I would rate it "Not terrible" because of that. Everything else is EQ-able, I think, but that, which is unforutnate.

We cant unread the AsciLab reviews.
I do hope the Ascilab prices won't have to shoot up once a couple of dealers/distributors get involved. I saw what happened to UK maker AVI when they decided (wrongly) to go into dealers. Prices rocketed, they lost their previous direct market and they all but disappeared a very few years later. Ascilab is far too good for this, but bills and wages need to be paid unfortunately, so I sincerely hope in that case, that a fair compromise can be reached. (not really the thread for this, so apologies)

Not sure anyone over here apart from ASR readers, know anything about HEDD. So many really good smaller speakers coming along now and at not too silly-high prices either.

Pretty nice speaker & especially for the size of course, but not inexpensive at $700 each. I'm not sure what the competition is in the $700 bracket with this speaker so I'm not sure how unique it is. I'm guessing the small size makes it likely more unique, so that could be useful to some people.

Attention! A studio monitor with bass and treble pot. Its funny.

Made in Germany cachet will appeal to some -- far as I can tell the AMT tweeters are really folded in Berlin and overall assembly too.
