Revel C208 Review (Center Speaker)

Which one? The RC263, while it has the tweeter/midrange vertically aligned, is 25.5" wide which wouldn't fit. The RC252 is a bit under 21" but is the same WTW setup as the Revels, and though the price is more attractive I would be inclined to stick with the Revel options if I'm going to go the WTW route.
I would saw out so it fits. The RC263 is sublime and will timber match Revel. I am using with JBL 3 way and seamless.

I don’t know for sure, not being a dealer, but I suspect this is Harman trying to protect B&M dealers. And B&M dealers have given me discounts for decades, at least on rather pricey equipment.
Haggling doesn't occur online. Haggling doesn't occur at Walmart. Haggling doesn't occur at McDonald's drive-through. Local retailers will negotiate price and repair. Expensive purchases should be conducted face-to-face.

You're thinking within an audiophile bubble. The traditional boxed speaker industry is relatively small in general, I personally don't know a single person who still owns an amp/avr or full size passive speakers. The number of people within what is already a niche that are looking to buy single $2000 speakers is almost infinitesimal on the macro scale. The overwhelming majority people these days only own airpods, soundbars, or smart speakers. These are mass produced speakers which under normal circumstance have plenty of supply available, they gain nothing turning away sales to competing dealers or cheaper makes/models they may

The C208 is shockingly large and requires planning and tape measurements before adding to any existing system.

And damn does it sound incredible.

Would you guys please share pictures or links to your entertainment center holding this C208 beast? I didn't realize the challenge of housing a speaker that's 12" high and 29" wide...

I also prefer >65" wide to hold the 75" TV and other A/V gear.

Thanks!

For most people, I imagine you'd want to get something pretty low and then put the C208 on top of it. Wall mount or stand mount the TV. For example, this type of floor mount will fit under an entertainment center and give you a pretty clean appearance. I just use a basic Monoprice component stand for my 8351B, but it's not quite wide enough for a C208.

If you must put the center *inside* the cabinet then yeah, you probably need something custom. That's not generally a great idea for the sound though.

Here ya go. 77" OLED for perspective. MLP eye level ~1/3 from bottom of screen. The credenza is from Wayfair.

I don’t have any pictures up anywhere, but my setup is using the Revel center speaker stand for it. The speake is placed on the floor in front of the media console. Only minor hindrance is that it blocks some IR receivers on one or two component, but those could be fixed with an IR repeater (if it was that much of a problem).

Hi folks, would a Revel C32 perform close to this speaker? This one is quite expensive for me but i can get a C32.

I'd expect this to be a very good speaker.

The C32 is probably still good but it’s from a while back. The C208 is similar to the F208 on its side with some modifications and is quite a large center channel.

No. Woofers are only 5.25. Yet is very good center. No waveguide. Looks like has an acoustic lens.
The revel c32 is no comparison to the Revel c208 in over all output levels. But as for overall quality, and if you have a small room (My theater is only 11 x 18 x 7.5) the c32 is a fantistic center channel. I rocked the M22 's and the c32 for years until my current theaer rebuild which includes an A.T.screen and 3 COncerta2 f35s.

Thanks for the input. What center were you using before the c32? What would you say is the c32's best characteristic?

None worth mentioning personally. As an AV installer for over 16 years I've installed Krell, Revel, Klipsch, Niles, Speakercraft, Tannoy, Boston Acoustics, Monitor Audio and I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple. The Revel systems I instlled were def my favorite which is why once the deal came up for me to get a pair of M22's and the C32 I jumped at it and loved them together.

Update on mounting this behemoth... I over paid for a C Stand and paired it with two Monoprice XL stands. They're great. The 55" tv will soon be replaced by a 75" that will straddle both stands- removing the glass and wood board you see.

PS- those walnut F208s will be posted for sale shortly - swapping in a black pair.

How high is the top of the C208 with that stand?
Is it able to angle up ?

23" high and I do have them angled up slightly with the provided spikes - pointing directly at my ears when seated 8' away. The spikes have a bit of travel and you could also remove the rears if you wanted to maximize the angle.
