I had like you the original Type 05 and liked the sound of them with the lineariser plugin. Although I bought and returned the digital Type 07 MKII as in comparison to the analog speakers with the lineariser plugin they sounded awful, like they'd recreated the lineariser plugin at a really low quality to run on their DSP chip or it could have been that in addition to the quality of the converters in the speaker. The digital MKII do have less latency with the lineariser on though, it's only 12ms compared to about 120ms (for the two ways) in the plugin.I had a pair of the first generation of this model. Anecdata, but they sounded wonderful. However, to get the best out of them, they were greatly assisted by a lineariser plugin in the computer signal chain. It added too much latency to be convenient for me, but it had a terrific effect on the clarity of the sound. I assume the built in DSP on some of their models achieves the same, possibly with less latency?
