Wait for a cheap pair of In8-V2 to come along.
Sadly they never appear used in my place but they are so cheap I might just as well buy them in v2 version. That's what I'm going to do rn and compare against LS50M + those famous Fosi amps.

After making a 1-1 exchange (2 weeks wait time( on one of my KH 120 II speakers that failed to power up, my other KH 120 II speaker then failed to power up roughly 2 months ago. Unfortunately it's been almost 7 weeks and I'm only expected to receive the repaired/new unit next week.

I really hope Neumann have managed to fixed these power issues on the KH 120 II.

I occasionally have wake-up problem. If it happens to the left one, I have to power off then power on; if it happens to the right one, pause what is playing may wake it up.

Did you see the new firmware, included in MA1 2.3.1?

Do they don't turn on at all or is it a just a problem with the wake up function ?

Via MA1 software.
so you have to buy $300~400 ma1 mic just to turn led off on the speaker? lame

cant believe they put neumann logo led off feature behind paywall for $1000 speaker lol

led logo is so shiny + annoying during the night time since it's so close to your eye

You can install the software without buying the mic.

Just use tape lol
thinking of doing it atm

tried using ma1 software just to turn off led but I found out u need 2 internet cable to hook up speaker

too much hassle just to turn off the goddamn led lol ‍

if I'm going through that much hassle to set up ma1 software just to turn off led logo, I might as well get neumann subwoofer + ma1 mic for room correction at the same time (which will be far in the future)

so I bought pair of kh120ii for music listening and here is my impression:

sound is very clean and clear. nothing is over or under emphasized

it's very easy on the ears for long term music listening (no ear fatigue)

it's the type of sound that you appreciate the longer you listen (but it may come as little boring at first impression)

if I were to compare its sound to dietary, it's like being vegetarian

nothing is too spicy or too salty, or too sweet. it's like being flat like eating vegetables. but u know it's healthy

imo, I think it's the ideal sound if you want to make music

but if it's just for music listening (like eating that tasty cheeseburger u know it's unhealthy), I think there might be better option for the money
(I heard u can eq the sound to ur flavor with software or hardware with schitt lokius but I dont have that in mind atm cause I feel ok atm)

also speaker seems like it's built with subwoofer + ma1 in mind to be more of complete system

it sounds complete on its own, but in more of modular way

kh120ii sounds complete on its own but I feel like I have to buy kh750 + ma1 to be 'complete' idk if that makes sense

what I liked about kh120ii is that it had no audible hiss noise even at very close distance unlike the previous active speaker I used

also the speaker is surprisingly smaller than I thought (I used 8 inch speaker before and 5inch speaker is so tiny)

Genelecs have the same "clean " sound but are somehow more exciting sounding IMO of course

Theoretically, you could connect 1 KH120II with 1 LAN cable directly with your computer and change the setting, then repeat with the second speaker, i think. Not 100% sure, but i think this should work.

I tried but u need 2 for software to install. I ordered 2 internet cable cause the leds were too annoying in night time
The current version 2.3.1 should support mono systems. It is a preview feature though, so it must be enabled manually and may not work as expected yet. I did not try it.
