Any news on an HTP-2/successor?
That's B-Stock (refurbished). There was a two to three day period where it was on sale for $2699 last fall, however that was brand new and in stock. I almost bought one, but the lack of DTS:X Pro was too much as they've been promising that for years and I see nothing, just more and more delays.Wow! I'm feeling a bit cheated now! New LOWER price and in stock. http://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=42116
It seems thanks to several volunteers. If it weren’t for them, it and their continued efforts, development would have been abandoned. This goes clear back to their major boot issues that, if I’m not mistaken, were resolved by volunteers. I believe the same goes for ART implementation. The biggest weakness, seems to have become a tremendous strength in continued support and the addition of features. I don’t know how much Monoprice is contributing, but it truly is an amazing effort with all the features. It is good to hear that Monoprice has an ongoing update program for the HTP-1 !
Too often owners of gear more than a year of sold old are quickly forgotten.
I can't speak to that with any real knowledge but I have been subscribed to this thread since Amir reviewed it 6 years ago and didn't hear an awful lot complaints about that many issues?I don’t know how much Monoprice is contributing, but it truly is an amazing effort with all the features.
Monoprice paid one person for the fw updates. The others were volunteers (including myself but only the past few months).
The amount of hours that one person spent probably wasn’t worth the pay, and they are still working now as a volunteer.
Just like all the Linux developers that volunteer thousands of hours only for the satisfaction of the outcome itself.Monoprice paid one person for the fw updates. The others were volunteers (including myself but only the past few months).

That has been the case since IIRC last December actually.FYI - As of February, 2026, the HTP-1 now fully supports Dirac ART.
Is it a usual MO to have a staff of engineers doing this stuff ???Monoprice paid one person for the fw updates.
After all of the latest updates to the HTP-1, it’s a no brainer. How you compare Minidsp Tide 16 to HTP-1? Which one would you choose nowadays?
Is there anywhere I can find a full rundown of the current specs for this thing? Monoprice's website sucks. That has been the case since IIRC last December actually.
There wasn’t a better value in AVPs before these massive upgrades. And now…there’s a lot of other stuff the market that looks severely overpriced.
None better than Amirs that I'm aware of?Is there anywhere I can find a full rundown of the current specs for this thing? Monoprice's website sucks.

I am looking for a 'cleaner' solution to running a MiniDSP HTx + Schiit preamp, and this might fit the bill.
Can you turn off processing for analog inputs - so I don't have digital processing of analog from my turntable, for instance?

Yeah, I was hoping for the updated specs - but thank you!None better than Amirs that I'm aware of?

Monoprice HTP-1 Home Theater Processor Review
This is a review and detailed measurements of the Monolith Monoprice HTP-1 16-channel AV Processor. A kind member ordered it and had it drop shipped to me. The HTP-1 has recently started shipping and costs US $4,000 from the company direct. I can't say I am a fan of the industry design of the...www.audiosciencereview.com
I'm pretty sure you can, they should have a pure-direct option like most good AVR's do today.
But you can't then use digital room correction of any type, which is a better option to have sound quality wise than any pure analog path can provide.
YMMV
