Except yourself, who else in the list is a member here ?
I'm involved with two papers on the program. @amirm, one is in the same session as yours and I look forward to meeting you in person.

This one is of interest to me as I'm giving a paper on gunshots in body-worn camera recordings at a conference in November. Rob Maher has done a lot of work in this area.

And this is just really cool. Would love to hear some more of the Barron's archive:

One challenge with the conference is that a number of talks are concurrent. So not possible to attend all of them.

On my session, they put one of the top Pro youtubers in parallel with mine!
Will the talks be published after the event? Video?

I don't think so. Whenever they send out surveys, that is my #1 feedback to them that in this day and age, we shouldn't have to travel for hours to see these talks.

No. Just want to see a target curve for it that is based on listening tests than the random one people have cooked up.
I think the cooked up target is based on diffuse field plot

With a bit more bass?

I suspect this paper might show this

One thing other industries have done is a conference price and then a “video on demand” conference price.

I imagine there is lost revenue once talks get distributed but maybe paid live streams would be one more way to get content without requiring travel.

Hopefully you get a chance to take advantage of the fine restaurants here while you're in town.

AES conference program is finally available. I thought I post it for members to see what the buzz is about and whether there are any talks of interest: https://aesny23.sched.com/

You might see some familiar names there from ASR. :)

I am especially interested in the talk about B&K 5128 headphone preference curves/listening tests. Author had contacted me in advance about it.
You should ask them why many people in the industry can't reconcile the data measured on the 4128 and 5128, not even B&K themselves...

In a nutshell, the 5128 is supposed to extend the 4128 at HF with other improvements but is also supposed to meet the same standards within the highest common range.
To make it simple, below 8000kHz and after free-field compensation, they should be nearly identical; note that B&K provide FF compensation curves up to 20kHz.
The fact, as measured by me AND other massive corporations I am in touch with AND by the B&K employees that came to my facilities to try to explain that I was hallucinating during my evaluation of 5128, is that it is just not true. Either one is wrong/inaccurate or both are... and I am not talking about 1 or 2dB...

That is all I am prepared to discuss publicly although it's been 2 years almost to the day that I (and others) have been waiting for an explanation from B&K after I filed a report with them.

A bit of scrolling in the agenda will tell you...
Thanks Rja! The title looks like Amir is going to upset the apple cart. I can hear the gnashing of teeth and whining by many audio companies in the home high end arena. Watch your back after your lecture Amir. Don't want someone to hire Guido the leg breaker to go after you! LOL Amir walks where others fear to tread. I bet Amir is close friends with Chuck Norris!

The 5128 fanatics have even more major problems than I thought...Was this with over-ear headphones or IEMs, or both?

I will be able to summarize it once it is the AES database (I assume when the show goes live). But can't share the whole doc as that is against AES rules.
