New versions of Genelec The Ones anytime soon?

The 8631 with over 1,000 watts are more than a nearfield.

there was only one change in the whole lineup and it was right at the beginning, they improved midrange and amps since the first 8351A came out (which introduced the whole concept), so only 8351 got a "B" revision, all the rest is on the "A" model and I wouldn't expect any changes soon, nor there are any rumours about it.
Posts stating that main monitors sound better while being actually older and less recently updated are just purely subjective opinions not backed by blind testing or data, but regardless, they are meant for different installation type, so one is not a replacement of the other. If you care about random people subjective opinions, count me as the guy who prefer the Ones line (but with W371A) to the mains, I used and owned them both.

What were the differences between the 8351a and the 8351b? The 'a' version is a few thousand less on used markets. Seems like a good deal.

Here is what Genelec said in a support FAQ:

"8351B offers
  • higher max SPL, (note: +2db, 111 vs 113)
  • improved linearity and
  • 4 times higher ability to compensate for room acoustic (GLM AutoCal tool set)
8351A is a very capable system, but if these features are significant in your application,
then it may be useful to consider 8351B
."

Oddly the A version is almost 10lbs heavier according to specs. It's also got smaller drivers all around.

I wonder what the '4 times higher ability to compensate for room acoustic' means?

As you mentioned, different and more powerful amplification, different drivers, and also I suppose the claim about 4 times the ability in GLM refers to on-board computing power for DSP.

Thanks ;)
By the time I'll decide to buy they'll probably have a 8371, a mini version of the 8318 or something lol
I laughed out loud. @Pearljam5000 - we are rooting for you.

Another difference I found - the 8351a is not compatible with the W371a woofer system. Only the 8351b is compatible.

Aye, which is the reason for the higher SPL in the 'b'.

Your “quest” is even longer than mine :p … I don’t think I recall ever seeing it … what speakers do you have now?
Lol
Currently none unfortunately
Like with women... It's complicated ;)

Yikes, that’s just not acceptable. Want me to ship you my JBL 590s to borrow?
Thanks for the very generous offer but I couldn't take anything from you or anyone else on here
But thanks again, much appreciated :)
