Genelec 8330A Still Loud after GLM?

I got a pair of Genelec 8330A speakers and the GLM manager. Followed the directions and connected the speakers via ethernet cables that came with them and then out to the GLM unit.

Started the software and followed the prompts and finished the calibration. But, the speakers are still really loud like they were before the calibration. I have a Behringer big knob and cant push it past like 15 or 20(max) before its too much. Also, for some reason the software wouldnt allow me to load the previous group and just crashes when I try, so I ended up doing another new group and calibration.

Couple of questions for the masses:
1. When I am doing the calibration and have the speakers connected via ethernet, there is no sound. I assume that is normal for that process? I had to turn the power off on the speakers after calibration and back on in order to hear them again.
2. Does the GLM box need to be connected at all times or only when you need to make adjustments?
3. How do I turn down the volume on them so I can adjust my Behringer big knob so that it will match actual volumes?

1. You should here a loud tone sweep when the speakers are calibrating
2. Ensure the correct dip switch on the back is selected, then you can save the max volume setting & calibration to the speakers.
3. You can adjust the internal volume of the Gennies from the GLM software, there's a big slider that goes from 0dB down to -100dB. You can also set a max volume level in the software. You'll need to GLM box plugged into the PC when you do that.

Personally, I just use the internal volume control built into the Gennies with one of these: https://www.genelec.com/9310b-wired-volume-controller
It works great, but you will need the GLM box attached via ethernet to the speakers when using that volume knob, as the knob plugs direct into the GLM box.

The 8330a dont have a dip switch on the back. I really dont want to use another volume control knob when I already have one.

For some reason the volume slider in the software wasnt working before but now it is. I have it set to -30.0db but I am not sure what it should be in order to hear the what the correct volume is?

Interesting. I have 3 different types of Genelec SAM monitor and they all use dip switches. I guess these are too small to accommodate them.
Looking at the manual, you should just be able to store the settings to the speakers from the software. No need for dip switch: https://fcdn.goodq.top/caches/faddd...zMwX29wbWFuLnBkZg_p_p100_p_3D_p_p100_p_3D.pdf

So what's problem? Use this Your knob, to turn down volume. You can also connect GLM, set volume at -30dB, store it in Genelec (there is function in software for this), and disconnect GLM kit.

Connect GLM calibration KIT, turn down volume from GLM software, select store in monitors in GLM software, and You can disconnect GLM KIT.

Only for adjustment

There is no "dip switches" in Genelec 8320 or 8330.

No, its not normal. Have You updated firmware?
