After reading 117 pages stil with doubts about what to get .
I ve got the Neumann 120a version with the 750 sub + Ma1 and I’m very happy with this system , however wanna go one or two steps forward in sound quality. My studio is well threated acousticly and it’s about 12 meters square .
I’m looking to hear more 3d sound where I can hear where to place the instruments, more mids clarity , more reverb and compression clear .
My final 2 speakers are :
Kh 150
310
Seen some folks that have both , which should i choose ?

Have you considered the Neumann KH120 MkII? Unless you frequently monitor at punishing levels, I don't see how you could need more output in a room that size. I have the KH150 in a much larger room and find that it gives all of the qualities you describe with the right music. No subwoofer needed for virtually all genres.

It's worth pointing out that the KH310 is based on older technology than the KH150 and KH120 MkII. I've read somewhere on ASR that an updated model may be forthcoming in the not too distant future.

Another option
KH120 II +subs

I have all of these monitors and sub in my studio.

What is the listening distance? This is critical in the decision process?

How deep is the bass of the music you will listen to? This is also an important consideration.

Let use know and I will give you my advice (for what is is or is not worth).

Is the v2 that much better in therms of clarity , 3D sound than the “A” version?
Well I don’t listen to them that loud , the choice of a bigger speaker like the 150/310 it’s because the better quality.
It’s what I’m looking for

Woww nice !!!

Well the listening distance is around 1/1,50m and I don’t listen at higher spl.

As a music producer, I mainly make/ listen to house/ techno and minimal music with a lot of bass (bought a 750 sub +Ma1 for the low end)

I’m not looking to higher spl, I’m looking for more mid quality and more 3D sound so I can be more perfect to mix /master my tracks.

That’s why 310s always were my dream monitors because they have 3 way and probably more sound quality but now with the v2 versions of 120/150 I don’t know and don’t have no chances to ear them where I live

The KH 310 have no better sound quality an the KH 150's. The KH 120 II's are better than KH 120A's. If you are going to use the KH 750, than either the KH 150's or KH 120 II's would work well. I cannot tell a difference.

There is really no scientific basis for good quality monitors having some special 3D sound. There is no difference in 3D sound among the KH 310's, KH 120 II's and KH 150's. You might look at the dispersion patterns if that is what you mean - examine Amir's test reports in this regard. Especially very nearfield distances (1 to 1.2 meters which is what all nine pairs of Neuman monitors are in my studio) these is no meaningful difference in dispersion patterns.

+1 for the 120 v2
Manny thanks for your reply

Did u listen to it against the old “A” version ?
I owned it, but sold it after hearing the 8030C
Obviously the KH120 II should be better but didn't listen to it yet

Quality is simply the measurements ----- study Amir's test reports

I have a pair of 150's how much better would it be to add a pair of 750's? Saw asr's review added cannon 8.6 points
It depends entirely on the low frequency content of the music source. That 8.6 score is meaningless. If you listen to music that has significant content below 40 Hz, then the KH 750 will be good. Otherwise they will add nothing.

As a note, there is very little music produced that actually has content below 40 Hz - some EDM etc, but nothing --- nothing --- mainstream. In all of the fifteen albums I have currently distributed, there is no content below 40 Hz. Consider what instruments and compositions actually produce significant sound below 40 Hz ----- and what music producers include as a result.

There is a problem in your statement, added 750 subwoofer crossover point is 80hz or 120hz. the same a minimum of 40hz song 10 inch subwoofer is responsible for the 40hz-80hz part, added a pair of 10 inch gun will not be more than 6.5 inch 150 sounds fluffy and more powerful?

It makes no difference in sound quality

In fact, I think that the 6.5" 150 is definitely not as good as the 10" 750 in terms of volume at 40hz-120hz, and the addition of a subwoofer will make music at 40hz-80hz more subdued and more audible. For example, the 11be and 420 are both 10" boxes their low frequencies and sense of scale in the soundstage must be better than the 6.5" 150 and 8" 310.

This is not true for lovers of large classical music works. My recording of Elgar's "Dream of Gerontius", for example, has organ pedals in the final section almost never heard on a home audio system.
Personally I would rather habe good reproduction of the first audio frequency from 20Hz to 40Hz for the music I enjoy than the top octave from 10kHz to 20kHz which at my age contains very little I can actually hear.

Wow, didn’t realize it :)
So you can’t hear any difference between 310 and newer v2 versions ?
Always thought a 3 way system would sound much better than 2 way .

That is great , It means I can buy the 120 v2 that is much inexpensive than the 310s and have the same sound quality ?
