Next up, a Craftsman portable air compressor whose grommet has failed and courtesy of some ham handedness removing connectors, needs a new switch too...
Seems better inside than I expected. Probably do not make them like this anymore!

Funny, from that picture its hard to get a sense of scale of how large that compressor is. If its anything like small compressors I've heard, its annoyingly loud!

Remember Carmody s2000 speakers? They did not sell on ebay either. Figure they are better than my old HTD speakers. So gutted them, stained with Hickory gel stain and getting ready to reassemble...

When they were discontinued, I picked up a lot of the remaining parts inventory. I replaced the sorbothane with acoustic felt and then went after the response mismatch. I replaced tweeters and the checked the crossover as the mismatch was close to the crossover frequency. As was about to give up, swapped the woofers and the mismatch followed the woofer. I had one spare and when I swapped it in and the speakers matched again!
Nothing about audio, but this have been on my workbench for a while. Realize that I need to replace the bellow, tried to repair the current one but that was waste of time Everything else seem to work...
My old Norelco to replace the battery. Again. Original lasted 5+ years, second 3+, last replacement lasted a year. Might have been under warranty, but the no-name company is no longer in business that I can find.
My workbench is not nearly as organized, but would not have room for a Purifi SPK5 anyway. So here it is on the floor...
After getting the fancy port reattached and finding the tweeter connection polarity was reversed on the pcb, the frequency response still had a broad dip in the middle. After a round of checking the circuitry, found one of the small inductors in the LP filter was not connected. Here is how that affected the frequency response...
