Yes. 8 ohm, 98dB sensitivity, compression horns. They pick up a lot.Do you have 8 ohm speakers paired with Fosi ZA3?

That explains why you feel elevated top end with ZA3.Yes. 8 ohm, 98dB sensitivity, compression horns. They pick up a lot.
This explains nothing, the nominal impedance of a speaker is an arbitrary value assigned, to understand if there is actually an interaction capable of modifying the frequency response you would need to see the impedance curve of the speaker. That explains why you feel elevated top end with ZA3.
I don't have that information, it's a DIY Sound Group speaker they don't sell anymore. Fusion 12 Tempest. This explains nothing, the nominal impedance of a speaker is an arbitrary value assigned, to understand if there is actually an interaction capable of modifying the frequency response you would need to see the impedance curve of the speaker.
Maybe this will help you,I don't know if it's final but it should be close.you can also sim it if you like following the thread of the link:I don't have that information, it's a DIY Sound Group speaker they don't sell anymore. Fusion 12 Tempest.
Okay… I believe you. ThanksThis explains nothing, the nominal impedance of a speaker is an arbitrary value assigned, to understand if there is actually an interaction capable of modifying the frequency response you would need to see the impedance curve of the speaker.
Just to clarify - first gen PA5?Well, my PA5 is now producing noise in the left channel. It builds the longer the amp is on. Just changed my vote. Wish they still had the blue color in the newer models.
Yep, bought it a few months after launch IIRC.Just to clarify - first gen PA5?
I guess its bound to happen to all first gen PA5, just a matter of time then!Yep, bought it a few months after launch IIRC.

Well, it was a good run anyway. I purchased a PA5 balanced as soon as they came out and after a couple years of light duty only driving my tweeters at a fixed gain it finally died last weekend. Not in my use though, I'd replaced it a bit ago so decided to gift it to a friend along with a Wiim Pro to trick out his new (to him) high sensitivity floor standing speakers. Oh well, at least he still had the crap Sony integrated to use with the Wiim.
O' BoY! Have I seen a few of really crappy Sony amps and receivers. Like really inexpensive STK amp ICs and everything is plastic and cheap plastic. Sony can make some of the best stuff but when it goes make budget gear the stuff gets very cheap. If the “crap Sony” continued working after the PA5 died “the in tail”,.. then I am not sure that the “crap” modifier/adjective/adverb is accurate when applied to the Sony.

A brief summary of this thread:Reach out to Topping.
That seems to cover itA brief summary of this thread:
The PA5 amp breaks, it has a systematic defect in the design. Many warranty replacement amps broke too. Many people bought two, and both broke. The defect rate is extremely high.
@TOPPING-Service and @JohnYang1997 and many of the resellers are not helpful.
ASR member has identified the problem, developed a fix for the systematic defect. The replacement module costs less than the effort of engaging Topping, who don't seem to understand reliability or customer service.
