NAD C298 Stereo Amplifier Review

I just bought a NAD 298, the balance is good on the RCA input, but not the same on the XLR input. The Wiim Pro balance control should be turned to
the speakers should play at the same volume. Unfortunately, I bought it in another country, what should I do now? Service here will only repair it for money. That
say 150-300 US$

Unless you want to replace the unit the obvious choices would seem to be either pay the service cost or just use the RCA input and live with it. I guess you could also try putting a passive mono (or half a stereo) volume control into either RCA or XLR path and adjusting that to correct the NAD's imbalance between the two.

Are you sure the problem isn't the source or cable?

If I set the balance on the source, it does the same. It is rather a question of whether the faulty channel causes this other deterioration in quality

Which channel was quieter before switching? Could still be the cable (at the XLR end).

I swapped the left cable with the right one, and now the right channel is quieter! So the cable seems to have resistance!

The XLR cable is used, the amplifier is new, 1400 Euro

I wouldn't swear to audible differences?
I any case, only having the measurements of the Roksan Attessa here to look at. It failed pretty badly on the bench showing some weaknesses in technical design. Without having a Blak on hand to see it things have gotten better, I'd put my money on the NAD.

Consider ordering a hypex or purify power amp online.The NAD C298 is great but costs more than your speakers.

Have considered, those not sure of the quality of them compared to a real audio company, also speakers were comparable price around £1600 - £2000 new depending where you buy.

The sound of the dalis is great, i could listen to them all day, hidden gem in my opinion

My suggestion was the buckeye as well, unfortunate you do not know someone in the US. Also unaware if they offer 240v support.

Have you seen the audiophonics amp that was reviewed. That amp did phenomenal and probably falls in line with Buckeye and you can try it and return it if you do not like the sound. They are located in France and ship worldwide.
