Hy, I have the a80 on my PC usb connected. Everything is ok ish, before I had the A07 Pro from Aiyima and a separate dac . The sound with previous sistem was better than this A80. It's not bad , but not as good as before . Someone on the forums said to change some caps , any idea which ones . Also I put Muses02 Opamp, the sound got better but not by much .
A80 is a excelent solution for PC use , but the sound could be a bit better .
Would try to upgrade if someone knows what to change ...?

With A80 I see lower gain (aka amplification). That might affect your sound perception. I had the same issue with A07 (29dB gain) and Topping PA5 II+ (19 or 21 dB gain). A07 just sounds better to me, while PA5 much cleaner/noiseless.

I had the A07 pro , but no subwoofer output so i used a high low auto filter, it worked well . I used the A07 pro with A08 DAC from aiyima. I said i should change at this all in one A80 , but the sound is not the same , i think is a little worse on this A80 , not much but i think the first sistem sounded better . But i have to admit its an all in one desktop PC solution , so its more compact , less wires and looks really cool . All in all the A80 is a good amplifier , not so refined in high volumes, but good amp nonetheless .
I have the Kanto YUP 6 aka Kanto passive 5.25 and a presonus sub 8 .
The sistem is more than enough for pc use scenario . And i also changed the opamp to MUSES 02 on the A 80 .
But again i liked the sound from A08 DAC With A07 standard opamp pro better , the only downside was i had to use that audo low high adapter and some more cables from DAC to amp .

Have had the A80 for a few weeks now and overall they are quite enjoyable playing over my Kef Q100's.
The display's input selection information is pretty much useless though in a livingroon situation. Same goes for the volume indication. Why they did not opt for numerical values is beyond me.

One niggle I've had is with the optical inputs; anything playing back over that ( tv audio ) in the first few minutes - be it xbox game of netflix etc - there are stutters and brief moments of no sound at all. Thinking of returning as none of my other little class D's from SMSL etc show this behaviour..

Do I need to install any drivers before I can use the usb connection to my cell phone or tablet streaming Spotify/apple music?

I bought this amp and returned it, as I found that there was no gain at all. I had to turn the volume at least 80% to get a good loudness, at 50% it was non existent I tried both usb and Bluetooth connection same volume levels.

RCA and BT input volume is on par with other amps I have - the Optical SP/DIF input though I have to crank up quite a bit to achieve same level.

So it's normal that this amp needs to be cranked to 70-80% to get comfortable levels, but then again I have a fosi audio bt20a and its exactly the same, so maybe these class d amps work like this?

That sounds excessive =/ No here to get around 75db it goes from the blue into the purple quite a bit on sp/dif - rca is maybe 25%
See thats the annoying thing about having dots for volume indication =_=

What speakers are you using with A80?

Kef Q100. Not terribly efficient speakers. Sounds like you definately had a dud A80.
Well me too w regards to sp/dif maybe ^^

I have missions qx4 mkII which has got a sensitivity of 88 so it shouldn't have been to hard to drive them. Maybe I did get a sud unit. Might order again from Amazon.

oh those look nice. I've not heard Missions since the 90's ( 753 ) They disappeared from view from the few hifi stores that were left here at the time but looks like they made a good comeback. I'd give it a chance w regards to the Aiyima - at worst its a few days wait for money back w Amazon at least

Good idea but I'm leaving the UK to go abroad which is where my second setup is so will either re-order the A80 again or just carry on using my 7 year old Cambridge Audio CXA80.

Safe journey o/
I think for a time there there was more demand than supply for these things - maybe they rushed them out a little too hastily. I have to say other than the sp/dif issue and the uselessly small input selection and volume on the display I have thoroughly enjoyed my music using this little amp.
At the speed this company operates it wouldn't surprise me if they put another 'banger' out by Fall so either way - whether you order another A80 or the A100 hits the shelves - I think you will like what you end up with

Just returned mine over the issues with sp/dif and think I can stand to wait for a Mk2 of this amp which maybe also sees a redesign of the display so input is more visible from a distance in living room conditions, and hopefully volume information is indicated with also clearly visible numerals instead of small dashes.

I will miss it much meanwhile though
