Does anyone know if Eversolo have any plans to make Apple Music native?

Huge improvement for Amazon Music to go from sideloaded on Android web app, to native integration. Hoping to see the same with Apple Music.
Unlikely, as Apple doesn't allow anyone outside of Sonos to use direct integration of Apple Music that I'm aware of and that's only due to a pre-existing partnership / business relationship. Eversolo still doesn't have Airplay 2 included on there devices which was originally advertised, some have rumored that it was due to Apple not granting Airplay 2 certification. Apple would probably be less than thrilled with the the sideload method used by Eversolo to include Apple Music in its current form.

Apple cannot be disappointed by others using Apple Music Android app in an Android environment. It's available for Android phones => it's available for anything running Android.

New firmware updated today. Big font used in the album display as an option, which is really good you can see from distance.

Now that Amir has reviewed both the Allo Boss 2 and Eversolo DMP-A6, has anyone compared the sound of both units? I have both and my ears cannot tell them apart. My eyes can (beautiful front panel is definitely nice to use), but my ears find both sound nice.

Thanks @mirror88. I'm curious if the originally advertised Airplay 2 capabilities will ever come to fruition or is that an impossibility at this point ? I noticed DMP-A8 specs didn't mention Airplay 2 either.
My Eversolo DMP-A6 is connected to my Sony STR-AZ5000ES via RCA cables. I can Airplay2 to the Sony, but since the A6 does native Apple Music (bit perfect), I no longer use Airplay from my phone to the receiver (I actually had an old iPhone 6S next to my favorite chair with the sole purpose of streaming Apple Music via Airplay to the receiver). Bit perfect streaming is why I bought the Eversolo DMP-A6. Love it.

I thought someone posted the A6 cannot stream Apple Music bit perfect. If so that would be a deciding factor for my purchasing one.

Yes, it sure does. It’s one of only 2 units that can stream Apple Music bit perfect up to 24/192kHz!

It streams Apple Music bit perfectly by sideloading Apple Music from within the Android OS.

Amazon Music HD had the same situation, where you could load it on the Eversolo, but this was resolved on the recent update.

What this means is now I can control Amazon Music HD smoothly through the Eversolo app - as opposed to casting a screenshare onto my mobile device to navigate the interface.

However, I would rather see a natively integrated application, with full support, than wirelessly wrangling Apple Music through a control app that feels less smooth. Honestly a minor complaint all things considered.

Question - I have ethernet and a Network Attached Storage as well as an unused M2 SATA 2TB drive.

I guess I have 2 options here for music storage on the Eversolo A6.

1. Play from my NAS - 16TB total, would probably allocate 2TB (more if needed) of that HDD to music files.
2. Install M2 SATA internally - 2TB total, I'll put it in the Eversolo if it actually makes a difference, otherwise might just stick with putting my music on the NAS.

This is because I'm not actually sure the Eversolo benefits from running an SSD as opposed to getting music through ethernet from my hard drive. Or if it does, the benefits would be extremely negligible. Would anyone like to correct me on that one?

Since you have 16TB worth of music on the NAS, I'd stick with it. Playing on the LAN should not be any less good in comparison to playing from an internall SSD.
Let alone that you'd have to make a heck of a filtering to chose what to actually put on those 2TB... ;-)

I play content from my NAS. Works fine, no need for SSD.

I mirror content from NAS to internal drive for redundancy.
Playback from NAS via WLAN ist no difference vs. from internal drive.

i like so much the A6 that I am considering to upgrade to the A8 for even better DAC and preamp. Would the A6 + $1.100 external DAC/preamp be better than the A8 alone? I am in my return window for the A6 for just 3 more days..

This article is the culprit for me considering the upgrade

If there's no need for analog in why to to this way?
A6 seems sufficient in any aspect of digital domain performance.
Not?

I use it as preamp directly to my power amp, so the preamp section matters. And maybe DAC is better also

I almost certain they will both sound exactly the same, but if the added features of the A-8 are useful to you…

None of the added features are useful for me. I do not need analog in or HDMI in. In fact I would lose the MCH DSD. Maybe the only interesting one for me would be the DSP features (EQ, Dirac in the future maybe?). I am asking about the preamp section and possibly better (smoother?) DAC

I put the question to Audiophonics, as Keith says, about the DAC, little difference objectively, given that it's an AKM we can expect small differences subjectively, given that no one has made a return is difference to say. As I don't use the preamp section as you do, I was advised not to switch to the A8, I also have an external DAC and use the A6 and this external DAC. The preamp section should be better with the addition of a fully balanced R2R volume controller, using precision resistors and relays. We'll have to wait a while for feedback from users who have switched from the A6 to the A8.

Any pre-amp ‘should’ be audibly transparent it would be extremely disappointing if the A-8s wasn’t.
Keith

This part of the review, I admit, was what made me consider the updgrade:

a considerably smoother, organic, and life-like sounding unit…. The sound is fuller, considerably richer, more textured, heavier, ballsier, more dynamic and explosive sounding. A8 has a strong kick in the lowest octaves, adding lots of body and sweetness in the midrange area, things that weren’t there on the A6”
