No wilderness in the Netherlands! This is near Rotterdam called Rottemeren!
My partner is Dutch, from Den Hague. Holland has it's own beauty.

Cool. I am taking my volcano-obsessed son there this Spring, and I am hoping we can see some evidence of activity.

It's hard to see in the above shot, but here is the little flow we were staring at, zoomed in on that point. It is hard to describe how cool it was to see in person.

Actually, that’s not quite true — there’s de Biesbosch, which is as wild as tidal wetlands go. For those who love sailing, one can (at least one could in the early 1970ies) rent a dinghy and sail through the creeks. There are lots of willows and spectacular bird life.

Indeed Stefaan, de Biesbosch is quite nice but the tides are artificially controlled...

Then I have some photo's for you made in Meijendel. Beautiful park indeed. I often go there for a walk or by bike.

Seems we've wandered the same trails. We had to cancel our trips back twice now, first as my father declined then Covid, miss it a lot.

Here are a few more cool places. I strongly recommend visiting them!

Greece:

These are Meteora Monasteries built on cliff edges

New Years eve at The Chapel of St. George / Orizontes Lycabettus in Athens watching fireworks over the Parthenon. The bright building under and to the right of the firework is the Parthenon.

More Arizona Places:

Largest copper mine in the US near the Arizona/New Mexico Border: I find it amazing, but also very sad to see the earth like this. It is literally for miles.. If you go here you can see the satelite view and just how big this thing is: Link to google maps

Bear Canyon Lake...FYI it lives up to its name. We get visited by MANY bears when we camp here.

Beginning Route to Box Canyon near Wickenburg AZ.

Mt. Humphrey's Peak 12,633 ft, Flagstaff, AZ: overlooking the Grand Canyon way off in the distance (you can actually see it from up here.

And the wildest picture of them all...a wild sighting of a dog-cow (her name is Moo). She is a 20lb mix between Jack Russel and English Pointer.

I love towns that you can see were literally built into the mountainside.

I'm sure not only Italians will recognize this:
