Concerts aren't ideal for (amateur) photography from the audience. But it never stops me from trying.

Here are a few less bad examples I've caught. If this thread grows legs maybe I'll dredge up some others.

Metallica 8.6.23.

Jack O'Neill 9.30.23

And an all time favorite, Jimmy Buffett in Paris 9.23.17.

Post 'em if you got 'em! And, naturally given the constraints of the environment, less than perfect photos are totally acceptable. It's all about the memories.

Not the greatest of photos, but here is Robert Plant and Alison Krauss last year at Red Rocks Colorado.
It was a spur of the moment trip for us.
Wonderful venue and a great show by one of my favorites.

Most all other concerts I was at was way before we even had cell phones to take pics.

I was quite active documenting our local underground scene about 10 years ago, I'd call those hostile environments for photography due to lack of light.

But because you had to get at least some photos, that lead to experimenting with multiple exposures, long shutter speeds combined with zooming and rotating the camera, "stealing" light if someone used their smartphone with flash from the front row in small venues etc. With right timing you might get off-axis fill light just enough that the shadows aren't completely 000 black.

Always protect your hearing and keep an extra pair or 2 of cheap ear plugs in your bag, in case a fellow photo/videographer forgets theirs. These kind of small polite acts carry a lot more weight than it costs to you.
I'm not comfortable sharing any photos because they have my real name in the watermark. Maybe some day.

Wrong color grading, should be a deep purple. :p

Random ones. I'm noticing a modern theme where bands keep their names prominent on the stage / in the light shows so it's obvious who's who in social media pictures
