WiiM Mini Streamer

I’m not sure if it’s my ear but when I listened to tidal master 16/44 vs amazon UHD using beta firmware 8247, I find tidal master sounds more cohesive than same song using greater sampling rate. UHD sound muffled.

(((( I believe you.. conceive it... and myself suggested to be...
I think I know why... even if not quite, there is a strong insistence on imagining putting my words at the top of the pile...
really not even
;-)
I hope to be able to continue to read big progress because their support has surprised me, very positively, since the beginning... ;-) ))))

New WiiM Home app just dropped. Global search looks good.

What type of TIDAL Master supported on WiiM Mini?

The TIDAL HiFi subscription tier can support up to 44.1k/16 lossless music, the TIDAL HiFi + tier supports Hi-Res master content (in the TIDAL App, there is golden master tag beside song name) in the following formats:

  1. Hi-Res, 44.1kHz or up, 24-bit lossless FLAC (it's supported as 5/31/22 firmware release)
  2. MQA, FLAC + MQA (it hasn't been supported yet)
  3. Dolby Atmos, Dolby master (it hasn't been supported yet)
Our App and device firmware will automatically choose the Hi-Res content to play for songs with master quality.

UHD in what resolution?

maybe, if you observe it too, could you give them a strong increase in level, at the toslink output in any case, when you switch to "eq on" mode, in any case... even "flat".
with risks of saturation because no longer respects the 0dbfs
;-)

5/31 firmware? Was it already been released?

Global search is by far my favorite feature. I’m using this over the native apps.
I do notice that it doesn’t search UPNP servers, nor My Music in Amazon Music - I tried searching for a playlist and it didn’t show, although it does if I use the search under Browse/ Amazon Music. Ticket(s) raised with WiiM

Ease up, man! ;) They need to concentrate on the uber-important task of adding Roon support!

If wiim apps will incorporate amazon UHD and tidal master, I will not be using native apps.

I think wiim mission is to put as much as features as possible. If that happen, all others high price streamer will become irrelevant. Using wiim on linear power supply takes sound quality further over wall wart that came with it. Treble was clean and sparkling.

Well got my unit set up, couple of issues...
Connected to my Arcam amp with ESS DAC, have it set to it's max over toslink 24/96...
When playing a 24/96 file, no issue... But when I play a 16/44.1 or 24/44.1, it will play fine but the display goes from no signal and switch between 44.1 and 48, it goes between those 3.
But 96khz plays and displays fine.

What linear power supply are you using?
