[New] Focal Diva Utopia

Felt like BS to me! Why you on earth would you want your speakers wrapped in cloth?
How do you clean it with a clothes brush, they look like a clawing toy for cats!
Here they explained the design

If, somehow, I could have a pair of Focal Diva Utopia speakers, I would be thrilled to have and display them in my home. I am fairly certain that I would enjoy listening to music through them and appreciate all the good reasons for the clever design.
But you would probably need subs to really enjoy them lol

Probably half of ASR listens in nearfield
I suppose if you are listening at a desk, yes, but I find that a bit sad.

I listen as a music lover - I am an engineer interested by the technology of sound reproduction who also worked in the industry as a research engineer in the mid 1970s on record players but not really obsessed with equipment.

I get good enough sound in my room to have not felt a need to upgrade for the best part of 30 years, though I have bought kit for non sound quality reasons.

A lot of threads here are about studio monitors so I assumed that not a small number of members here listen in nearfield
But obviously I could be wrong
My suggestion would be creating a poll as an attempt to come with a statistic.
I remember a previous one, asking about what we mostly use as our main system, and speakers were ahead of headphones. But nearfield/desk VS midfield/farfield/living room weren't mentioned.

It probably has to do with the small number of bigger speakers reviewed here.
As it's logical the ones reviewed attract the ones who use them or need to use them.
So...

Any measurements for them, why don’t all manufacturers automatically publish measurements?
Keith

But these are hifi speakers, not mixing monitors for on desk use (or to distract home workers from their work...).
Nobody I know listens to HiFi in the near field.

You've been here since 2016, why are you saying stuff like this? Have you just learned nothing from this site?

Since you're able to point a date of subscription, you could have seen the posts/likes scores as well, and should have drawn a few conclusions...
@Frank Dernie is one of the highest regarded contributors of ASR, and this from the very beginning. Not to mention a great Formula 1 engineer and a Hi-Fi enthusiast since way before I was born. So no, he hadn't "learned" of lot from this website. He teached a lot for it, that I guarantee.

Ok, what's with the dated hifi/monitor comparison nonsense then?

Coaxial drivers offer an advantage if you listen very close to the speakers. The further away you listen the less important coaxial is.

For listening to music in the far field, like most people I know do, it is not a key requirement.

So Big coaxial Geithains and Genelecs are not very useful?

FFS I didn't write they are not very useful just co-axial is not crucial at longer distances.

One could argue that the Geithans are the only good speaker because they are available cardioid over a wider frequency range than all but a tiny number of others. In the far field that probably makes more difference than co-axial.

This is all a bit stupid though.
