How did you achieve that directivity control from 150 Hz up ? Is it attributable to cancellation between both 15" drivers ?
(Have the same SB Audience in my own current project)

Yes.. The drivers are nearly in phase below 100Hz causing Omni directional radiation and out of phase above causing cancellation and the cardioidish polar pattern

The string grillword is an interesting approach, I assume it's fairly transparent but hope the "strings" don't
vibrate and sing in sympathy with the music.

Not sure which I love more - the CNC work on the horns, or the cat doing some inspection work in the background.

Stacking speaker boxes on each other plus club = PA speakers for me.
For example, ask a local artist to paint some that look like this:

...then you achieve the same effect.
