Most Beautiful Songs - 1960 - 1979

Currently reading Richard Thompson's "Beeswing." He mentions working on a number of Nick Drake projects and says that he is particularly struck by "River Man" on account of its beautiful string arrangement from Harry Robinson. 1970:

Not about music but about lyrics, a constant nice remainder:

Tabu Ley Rochereau and L'Afrisa International - Bavon (1970)

Some strange/beautiful: Incredible String Band, "China White", 1967

The Incredible String Band. Always odd.
Robert Resnik, the host of Vermont Public's excellent Sunday evening "folk"* program, All the Traditions, is a huge fan. Fortunately, he doesn't indulge his proclivities too frequently. ;)
Mind you, I am fine with The Incredible String Band. Even have a couple of their rekkids. But a little goes a long way - for me, at any rate.

PS maybe it's just me, but I am amused by the aoxomoxoa-esqueness of that art. Or is it vice versa (i.e., The Incredible String Bandness of aoxomoxoa's cover)? I dunno.
