Just got exciting news from an Onkyo corp insider, which got me canceling my Yamaha RX-A6A preorder.

Two AVR models with Dirac Live Bass Control (available separately as an optional software upgrade) and Auro 3D will be available early 2022.

The TX-RZ70/ VSX-LX705 (11.2 channels) and TX-RZ9/VSX-LX905 (13.2 channels) will sell for around 2000$ and 3000$, respectively (+ 450$ for multichannel DLBC license).

Don't ask me how I know, and who's the source, I just know. This is 100% legit and confirmed. More details and pictures coming soon...

Ahhhhh $2450 for Auro3D and Dirac w/ DLBC would be a dream come true. I guess I'll have to sell my RZ50 or hope the RZ50 at least gets DLBC and Auro3D at a later date... Or just cancel my pre order

Are there movies with 9.2/11.2/13.2 channel information?
And these new models are expensive, too expensive.

Atmos is object based, so there is basically no limit to how many channels that could be useful. How much moving objects are actually used varies greatly though.

But I definitely wouldn’t call them expensive. I think they will be the cheapest way to get Dirac with multi sub bass control!

Sorry, I have no additional information regarding the amplifications on these models. So 13.2 could be 13 amped or 13.2 processed. I can only assume 13 channels of class-d would make it a crappy class-d, but I don't know. Here are the full list of 2021/2022 models: (bold = 2022 models):

Pioneer AV Receivers compatible with IRK1804C:
SC-LX501 SC-LX701 SC-LX801 SC-LX901
SC-LX502 VSX-LX503 VSX-LX504 SC-LX704
SC-LX904 VSX-LX505 [ VSX-LX705 - VSX-LX905 ]

Onkyo AV Receivers compatible with IRK1804C:
TX-NR807 HT-RC180 TX-NR1007 TX-NR3007 TX-NR5007 PR-SC887
PA-MC5500 TX-NR808 HT-RC280 TX-NR1008 TX-NR3008 TX-NR5008
PR-SC5008 TX-NR809 TX-NR1009 TX-NR3009 TX-NR818 TX-NR1010
TX-NR3010 TX-NR828 TX-NR929 TX-NR838 TX-NR1030 TX-NR3030
PR-SC5530 TX-RZ800 TX-RZ900 TX-RZ810 TX-RZ1100 TX-RZ3100
PR-RZ5100 TX-RZ820 TX-RZ920 TX-RZ830 TX-RZ820 TX-RZ920
TX-RZ830 TX-RZ840 TX-RZ3400 TX-RZ50 [TX-RZ70 - TX-RZ90]

BTW, what is IRK1804C?

I guess if it is VSX, it is Class AB and if it is SC, then it is Class D. It’s a shame since they were ICE amps in the past and then Pioneer’s own design which used TI chips. Class D had the advantage of running cooler than AB.

Yeah, class D also ran more efficiently, so you got more of the advertised power from your multi channel system.

Yep, I'm guessing they just realized that they exposed too much information. BTW, my source has just asked me to delete this thread...
It’s your thread. Say the word and it will be deleted. ;)

32 is the channel count limit for Atmos at home, it's in 100s for a professional cinema system.
