It is sold out everywhere as of this past Friday, July 7th 2023... I ordered one from Amir at Summit Hi-Fi. He just sold his last unit of 300 he received this past week. He will be getting more in soon, told two to three weeks and then he will ship. Great guy, free shipping and no sales tax, I paid $899.00 all in. I have never dealt with Amir and his business, so I purchased with Shop Pay just in case. Zero interest and plenty of buyer protection. Also, Amir is a licensed distributor, and he offers a two year warranty on the device. Seemed like a straight shooter, and he called me back.
this is good to know, thanks for posting
The downside is they charge a 20% restocking fee for returns unless the unit is defective.,

My unit arrived yesterday. Installed a 1TB Crucial SSD for my FLAC collection and set off.

For the longest time, I felt that my system - LFD Mistral integrated & Ohm Walsh 4 speakers - wasn't getting a good enough source to show what it could do. That changed.

My goodness, what a little gem! The missus and I stayed up last night listening. Now she's not a tweaky audiophile like me, but she likes good music, and has participated in A/B compos where I've swapped components or pressings or whatever. I could tell she was relaxing with the quality of the music. None of this was planned, it just happened.

The sound quality of the Eversolo just blows away anything I had in the loop before. My beloved highly-modded CD player was just left in the dust. Inner detail, imaging...all much better. So much for those Burr-Brown chips I thought were so good. This feels like next-level stuff.

Operationally, the only hang-up was installation of FLAC files from my external hard drive via USB-OTG. It started to copy - and then it froze with the message "Copy failed." No buttons other than "Confirm" available, which took me back into the same dead-end loop, no other options. Had to reboot in order to get everything started again, then it uploaded smoothly.

I’ve really been enjoying my A6. I have about 80GB of digital music- so I put it in an external drive and connected it via usb. Navigation isn’t great as it’s such a long list and some indexed strangely - but as I have 1000 CD’s - can I buy an external CD
Drive and connect it to my A6 and rip the CD’s to the external Drive?

Yes you can. Page 17 of the manual, you can rip your CDs to any path. But it might be more convenient to get an internal SSD and rip your CDs there. They're not that expensive. The 1TB Crucial SSD I purchased was $40. Installation took about a minute.

With regards to SSD, the manual states Gen 3. Wondering if anyone has tried a Gen 4 drive since PCIe 4.0 is backwards compatible. Obviously a Gen 4 would run at Gen 3 speeds.

Thanks for the response. Are there any preferable CD drives - maybe which can rip faster than others?

Good question. I don't think there's much difference these days in ripping speed via external CD drives.

I've been perfectly happy with a $25 LG external CD drive. Got it last year, hooked it up to my laptop, and ripped ~600 CDs using Exact Audio Copy. No issues.

I was having the same trouble with the OTG USB tripping on me when trying to run a CD disc drive through it..Sorted that with some additional external power to the CD Burner .
What kind of External hard drive did you plug in to it ? That connection is only rated to 1.A max current. Some HDD drives might over tax it ?
BTW, Did you format the Crucial M.2 SSD you installed before you tried uploading files to it...
Is it a Crucial P3 M.2 ?

I was using a 5TB Seagate external HDD. After that first hang, no issues.

The 1TB SSD was a Crucial P3 M.2 (2280 protocol). I had no way to format it first, so I formatted via the Eversolo.

Yeah I had a 2TB Western Digital Black M.2 PCie Gen 4 handy so I popped it in the first day I got my A6.. Excited and anxious to get going I guess...
WAY over kill for a SSD that occasionally gets files copied onto it but I've never downloaded over 1TB of music files so fast...
These things can possibly get hot, especially when downloading large files to them... Make sure you install a Silicone Thermal Pad on the side of the M.2 facing the lid just to be on the safe side.. A 0.5mm. thick one seemed to be right thickness for me. That thick metal access lid acts as a good heat sink...

I bought a nice M.2 external enclosure for the WD Black Gen 4 SSD and I bought a 2 TB Crucial P3 Gen 3 that I'll install inside the A6...
That way the Gen 4 external will act like a Raid copy of the internal SSD music files ... Lots of backup...

I plan on downloading lots of streamed music onto the external Gen 4 drive if possible.
The big thing is these M.2 drives don't put a heavy electrical load on the OTG port due to no moving parts...
I can now leave the 2TB WD Black in the external enclosure plugged into the OTG port ....So basically I have 4TB of storage available for the Eversolo A6..

I also have a bunch of vinyl music ripped to DSD to dump onto the Gen 4 card too..The faster SSD makes more sense externally...It's somewhat wasted inside...

You can vary the way your music files are indexed:
Click on the Files box..... Then go to your SSD ( hoping you've named it)

While formatting you have to type in ( eg. 2TB SSD ) before confirming and finalizing the SSD formatting step...
I had some other title showing up ?? not named SSD until I typed it in.

If you don't change the name of the hard drive File to SSD you won't be able to change it later. You'll have to go and re - format the SSD again and that causes all the data stored on it to be erased when re- formatting...

Anyway, Click on Files Box ,,,, Then open SSD,,, Up in the top Right corner is a little notepad/ pen icon. Click on that and it let's you sort and index you music files alphabetically A-Z, Z-A... By date added etc. etc.
I just left it at A- Z...( the way it was sorted by my laptop)
You can fine tune the files by artist , genre etc.. The A6 will index stored files how you tell it to...
It just takes a bit of time & hands on practice to learn your way around this player...
You can make it easier by grouping the files by the type of music.
Eg. Rock, Jazz, Hip Hop or whatever.....

The EverSolo control app on iOS with Tidal and Qobuz still has a ways to go. Pretty basic compared to the native apps, unless I am missing something? For instance, my ‘Favourites’ selection is not complete. Is it also advisable to use ’connect’?

Have experimented with output on USB and Coax. Both are great, but in some instnces i perceive perhaps a bit more clarity with USB? Difference (if not imagined) is small.

I don't think you can get Dolby Atmos when converted to FLAC which doesn't support object-based metadata. You're getting the base layer channels.

Hi,
I answer on the second part of your remarks, in general, the USB cable, is generally more effective, its interest is to be able to transport rates higher than 192 Khz and the DSD. Some people like coaxial because it has a fuller rendering with a more limited bass, USB is more dynamic with more precision, the less natural the USB feels, be careful, we are really on the tastes and colors of some and others. In digital, I use USB and Coaxial, depending on what I have available in terms of connection.

I agree, but I suggest that you give Quobuz a try. They offer 3 levels of subscription MP3/CD Quality/High Res (which is anything with better numbers rhan 44.1 Khz/16bit). I have a 'CD Quality' subsciption on for a mont I had Tidal as well. Both were accessed via ROON and send to my RPI RooopieXXL streamer which connects to my RMI ADI 2 DAC FS / Headphone Amp. To make a long story short: I do not know what the Quobuz guys do (mastering?), but I find Quobuz sounds much better than Tidal, which is better than Spotify already.
How I wish Qobuz is made available in my country. I believe if Qobuz sound quality is superior than Tidal, most likely they have gotten a better version from Master Recording. In my opinion, I came across some Tidal albums are even sound "cleaner" than my own ripped CDs from Roon's version of the similar album for audition comparison. But some Tidal albums are badly selected, most probably they could not find the master record anymore.

Hi,
Being subscribed to Qobuz on the highest format, we generally find 24/96 studio quality and some 24/192, on this last format it is very impressive. During my time at Tidal (about a year), at the time of the MQA, there was less of the classic 24/96 format than at Qobuz given the MQA. Today, Tidal will only offer 24-bit FLAC like Qobuz, the sound gap will be close. I had both services (I listened mainly via Roon) to see the differences, listening to a lot of classical, Qobuz suits me better, Tidal is more oriented towards current music, Tidal offers videos and ATMOS in addition compared to Qobuz. Being French, I favored the local site maybe...

I manage to download Qobuz app, it was not previously available at Playstore. When I sign up, it still show Qobuz is not available. I hope I need to wait too long for Qobuz and I will drop them an email.

I have heard Qobuz is a great site for High-Res classical music

Do not hesitate to send them an email, they can take a long time to answer. I have the "sublime" Qobuz subscription in French, this gives the maximum quality and I buy high resolution albums from them by downloading (artists that I like), this gives me a reduction on the price given the subscription "sublime" from 30 to 50%. I use DSD Native as a site where you find very nice classical recordings, small catalogue, but the sound quality is incredible, the DMP is interesting from this point of view because it is compatible with both DSD 64 5.1 and DSD on highest quality format.

Thanks for sharing, good to know DMP A6 apps is working well with Qobuz.

Have any of you tried listening to a DSD file? I am new to streaming. I’ve had my A6 for a few months now and am curious to see if I can hear a difference with a DSD file (from an SACD) vs streaming a 24/192kHz from Qobuz.
I have like 80GB of old music on an External drive - but nothing is over 16/44 as it was straight ripped CD’d from 10+ years ago.
