Hi, for those with A6 pair and stack with external DAC Z8, may I know if the VU meter display are in sync?

What value do you find in pairing the two? Does the Z8 provide better sound?
I can't provide you the accurate answer as I own none of these players. I would love owners of the two answer for you and my previous question.

Cheers.

The DMP-A6 is Roon Ready officially since this morning:

Je ne peux pas vous fournir la réponse exacte car je ne possède aucun de ces joueurs. J'aimerais que les propriétaires des deux répondent pour vous et ma question précédente.

Acclamations.
The two Eversolo tested, in sound quality (resolution, dynamics, sound stage quality), 1% difference, it does not seem huge confirming the feedback of a few... I am interested in the question of the interest in a superior external DAC like you.

Doesn't matter if you have a SINAD of 114 or 124.. you wouldn't even be hear a difference if it was 100. Using a DAC with this streamer is really just wasting money.

Peu importe si vous avez un SINAD de 114 ou 124... vous n'entendrez même pas de différence si c'était 100. Utiliser un DAC avec ce streamer est vraiment un gaspillage d'argent.

Yes, I share your opinion

Hi: I am thinking of getting the Eversolo DMP-A6...but have a question about it's internal DAC....would it be considered to be a mid tier one or upper end???please give examples!!Thanks:)

It is completely audibly transparent. upper/mid are meaningless in terms of sound quality.

Agreed, both are of the similar ESS , the sound difference is subtle.

My original question posted still not answer, are these two VU meter are in sync when they are played ?

I have CXN V2 and pair with external DAC of Denafrip Aries 2, both are of different digital to analogue converter architecture and implementation .

are there any UK retailers here going to list it on Amazon UK ? I have a chunk of Amazon vouchers that I need to use up :D:D

The VU meters are pretty much in sync with the music I believe if that's what you're asking but I dont think they actually track output voltage accurately. They are basically eye candy. I could be wrong. To be honest I don't watch them anymore.
They're fun conversation items for a few minutes when someone comes by... You say; " Hey, remember VU meters? Check these out." Then you move on with life.
They were fun at first for me but it's way more fun to surf new music on Amazon Music HD which the A6 does very well btw.
Much better than a laptop computer ever did....
I loaded an interesting Radio station app that came with my A6 but just needed activating to my selected group of activated apps... Now I can listen to streamed Jazz 91.1 FM, my local Toronto Jazz radio station..

Dac Denafrip R2R sounds different (more smooth and warm) than ESS DACs which are straighter and more detailed, this Dennafrip seems to have a soft high end, rich midrange and bass. It reminds me a bit of what I have on my Denon PMA 110's Dac Burr Brown which has this type of profile. The two could be complementary and allow you to have two types of listening, I use that and like to have several DACs. Currently I have a Rose RS 250 and ordered the DMP A6 to have something different to listen to, the feedback I have on this streamer with its DAC is good, clear and detailed listening, fine treble without excess, no as in some ESS implementations.

Thanks for your sharing and confirmation on VU display.

I am happy with my current music streamer with Roon Ready, playing both Roon and its own apps, also internet radio. My first music streamer was Slim Devices Squeezebox V3, that was 2005, there's VU meter in vacuum fluoroscent display (VFD) back then. I

Well, enjoy your A6, music and life .

Cheers.

That's right, I always switch between CXN V2 (wolfson DAC) and Ares 2 (R2R DAC) for different music genres, jazz and classical music is best to play on Ares 2 IMO, a wider soundstage.
