I have the remote, purchased separately. Will not replace my android phone, but useful to turn on, turn off, mute, pause, play, select next track, etc.
Yes. Maybe for example Bluesound Node + MiniDSP Flex?
I can't find a better combo that provides the features that I use in a one system approach:
HDMI
BT Headphone
Multiroom
Dirac and REW Subwoofer intn
Add to:
Purifi amp
Nice speakers
I can't see other available options that don't involve adding redundant components.
Am I missing something in my relentless FOMO?
Have you tried using this new interwebs tool called, The Google? You can use The Google to find things like the DMP-A6 Remote.

can it be connected to a monitor? & can it rip a cd straight to ssd? oh & can you view yt? sorry for the inquisition; thinking of getting this.
I believe you can ‘cast’ to a TV, if you have an external optical drive then yes it can rip CDs, you need to buy an SSD too of course.
I haven’t tried YT, podcasts you can ‘airplay’ to the DMP, I will look at YT or ask on the Zidoo forum.

Can you pls let me know if this is a multi band EQ or is it also the same function that was introduced with the A8 with the possibility of creating multi filters with REW.

It’s multiband with individually frequency adjustments with on and off switch based on input very wide band and very useful for old classical piano recording or a certain guitar riffs detail it gives a more pronounced glow (within the limitation of the ESS chip)
I don’t have the A8 but the beta was published for both units
It does have an Ethernet for a LAN connection and it will be recognizable trough IP depending of your network and firewall settings then (maybe) trough a media player with Y.T. Plugin you can publish on YT (assuming you’re a content creator)
No internal WEB browser just a music streamer trough IP and LAN ,optical coax , rca ,usb
HDMI only for sound and no display out of any kind

I can't turn on the A6 using the app on my phone and tablet because the device is not discoverable when powered down. Is that supposed to be the case? If so, not having a simple standby is a major flaw for such a modern streamer.
You can use the remote.

That's what I've been doing. I just find it weird how we can't have complete control using the app. The remote should not be needed.

A RPi4 with moOde (which integrates CamillaDSP ready for REW filters, soon to get v2.0) does all of that.
Spotify-connect / squeezelite/LMS / UPnP / AirPlay 2 / bidirectionsl Bluetooth / graphic + parametric EQ.
You may be left out of some native client for streaming platforms, but all the above costs you the price of the Pi4.
Assuming you have a DAC, as the Purify Amp & speakers are already there, right...? ;-)
