They won’t make the slightest difference, buy better speakers/measure the room/implement any filters.
Keith
I have already invested in some very good speakers and I take note of the room measurement and calibration aspect, I did this for the Home Theater system which is in the same room. This still makes me wonder about the small difference between the DACs, but you are certainly not wrong, what are filters, I don't understand ?

Keith,

There is a guy who wanted to sell me a French DAC on an ESS 9038 pro base, well it's French, Atoll, almost 3000 euros anyway, he sells Rockna for more than 5000 euros....

I bet he did, Werther if you still doubt that all properly engineered dacs sound the same , the only way to convince yourself is to perform a level matched ( to .1dB) and unsighted comparison.
That is not to say that all dacs sound the same, they clearly don’t but all properly engineered dacs are going to be more or less identical, whether they cost €300 or €30k

Keith, no, you can't put me to sleep like that, he tried, well, he provided me with the DMP, that's the main thing, I didn't buy him a Rose 150 for 4000 euros....

Hello all,
I received my Eversolo Master Edition last week and first set everything up and installed an SSD for my music. Playback of Apple Music in HiRes lossless works perfectly and the device is good and easy to use.
What I can not manage is the playback of DSD files through my connected McIntosh amplifier. It has the DA1 DAC module and processes the following according to the manufacturer:
"Supports high resolution digital music up to DSD256 and DXD 384kHz via a Quad Balanced 8-channel, 32-bit/192kHz DAC."

However, during playback, the DAC only displays PCM352.8KHz.
Is there any special setting I need to consider?

I have tried DSD native and DSD over PCM, screenshots attached.

Thanks in advance and greetings from Germany
Sven

352.8 /44.1 = 8. So PCM sampling rate is base 44.1 and not 48. Don't think one can influence this via Menü?

The Denafrips will also almost certainly sound identical,
You need something that measures far worse with audible distortion.
The Gustard R26 might well fit the bill though, pretty poor.

It seems odd to me to pay so much more for audibly poorer performance but as always it is the individuals prerogative to enjoy poor reproduction.
Keith

Keith,
Seen by someone who bought an R26 :
"Recently I acquired the R26. I can clearly see that the clock inside the R26 is of a very high quality, much better than the Dinafrips Pontus I sold to get it. The funniest , is that even connecting the Dinafrips Hermes DDC doesn't improve timing/imaging like it does in the Pontus I guess the R26's clock is really good The Dac also has the classic thick tone of the R2R, although I sometimes miss the crisp, clear note of good Delta Sigma chip DACs like the one in the Denon A110 Unfortunately the streamer inside the R26 is next to nothing, it needs a external streamer."
It made me smile, I have the DAC of the A 110, it's a Sigma chip, it's not bad for an internal DAC of a fairly old amp, we find more efficient today...

Werther if you are interested in fairy stories, as you appear to be, I can highly recommend:-

Apparently one of the English magazines have reviewed the DMP
and given it a five star review which would really be something if they didn’t give every product five stars.
Keith

Keith, In France, he has very good appreciations of the DMP, fairy tales, it's not bad, actually

hi all ,is there any way to queue songs or make a playlist, playing files from the SSD drive.

I personally value variety. Why add an external Delta Sigma DAC to a device that already has a Delta Sigma DAC?

I'd personally consider a Resistor Ladder DAC (R2R) like Denafrips Ares II or Gustard R26 and so on. In fact, I am currently considering adding a Musician Draco + a dedicated preamp.
Thanks, Yllanos, if one day I take an external date, I will take a Gustard R26 DAC, I have Sigma (ESS and Burr Brown). It's an investment but the device looks well built.

You might also consider the Total Dac, it fulfils the two main ‘audiophile’ criteria perfectly it is really expensive and incredibly poorly engineered.

Keith

Vous pourriez également envisager le Total Dac, il remplit parfaitement les deux principaux critères « audiophiles », il est très cher et incroyablement mal conçu.

Keith
Keith, I know the R2Rs have poor measurements compared to the Sigmas, in the three that I mentioned, the SMSL SU 10 has excellent measurements, I agree, the human ear cannot hear at this level , afterward, we are really in a subjective or even psychological debate. The SU 10 seems interesting and more economical to me, I will continue my reflection quietly.

This external DAC will be connected to the Rose 250 that I keep, I will leave the internal DAC of the DMP A6 that I like.

First round of its comparison, Volumio against DMP Master, no photo, 7 votes for and zero for the Volumio without taking into account the functionality of the devices as well as the sound, wait for next week confrontation between the two Eversolo, more interesting....
