He had to get one from a colleague, his Anthem STM amp is not bad, my Denon is in the same range, it has room correction (5000 euros in France), what interests us is the two comparisons of the two DMP, he took the Volumio because the same price as the DMP.
 
I watched the video I may have missed it but there was no mention of level matching?
Volumio state 2v for both XLR and RCA, Eversolo 2.6 and 5.2.

No, you didn't miss anything because it wasn't mentioned. This is blind testing conducted by people who apparently do not understand how to do blind testing. What is amusing, and unfortunately all too common in the audiophile mainstream, is that great attention was paid to inconsequential details to create the illusion of scientific rigor, while important details that actually matter were ignored. So, they took pains to stress that they used "mains conditioning", that identical cabling and interconnects were used to "level the playing field", and they seemed strangely obsessed with the "impedance matching" between the DACs and the amp. On the other hand, they make no mention of level-matching the sources, and so they of course did not conduct an ABX run to confirm that the raters could actually hear a difference. In fact the language used to describe the "very different sonic signatures" of the two devices is telling: the Volumio Primo is said to be "laid back, recessed, and polite" (though the rhythm and timing were good, thank God :rolleyes:), while the Eversolo is said to be "more dynamic, more vivid, with stronger bass and high-frequency reproduction." This strongly suggests the Eversolo was running hotter on its outputs, and the specs you quote confirm that. However, since there likely was no sound meter within 50 miles of this test, we'll never know what really happened.

He will be able to say almost the same thing when he compares the DMP and the Rose 250A, relaxed listening, less dynamics, and possibly added "suitcase" concept, rich, organic sound, fluidity, fast bass, sweetness of the treble or openness , see what else he will add to the Eversolo. Since I've had a Rose for some time I can imagine. When he compares the two DMPs, see his arguments to differentiate... Thank you, in any case on the information how a blind test for my general culture should take place.

If one were of a distrustful nature one might expect the HiFi Rose to come out on top of any future comparison with a cheaper streamer.
Rose aren’t particularly forthcoming with their specs but the 250’s output looks to be 2.2v slightly more than the volumio.

Keith, I confirm maximum variable output 2.2v maximum, on the 250, I use 2v, this is the new 250A model, I don't know if they changed this parameter, the same, no more openness on the DMP, works better with my Denon PMA 110 which is very open, I noticed that. It has a more expensive set than HiFi Rose which should be in the lead.
 
HI, I've had this streamer for the last 2wks now and it has an issue that makes it unusable for my needs. I purchased this to use as a transport to connect a pair of devialet phantoms via optical.
I have no issues using my iphone to stream to the DMP-A6 but when using the inbuilt player such as Tidal, it plays, but when skipping a track the audio is lost, although the screen shows it is playing. On the devialet app it shows that there is no signal coming in to the speaker via optical.
Switching to another inbuilt app such as radio player and the sound returns and then back to tidal it works again.
This also happens when playing files from the onboard storage - i ripped a CD and stored it withing the available storage (not SSD).
When playing back a file there is sound but skipping a track the sound cuts out, but the icon is still spinning.

I find i have to start on a radio app first before using anything else.
Any ideas? My return window will soon be closed so I would like to get this resolved.

Can You ensure connection reliability? Maybe there is a fault.
 
Hello, I have a question for someone who has the DMP and who installed Emby Server but I couldn't figure out the path to access the internal SSD he installed.
He has Emby Server in a Nas Qnap and in another under Windows Server and no problem creating the path but with the DMP he cannot do it. Maybe someone uses this or not possible with the DMP...
 
Is this streamer a good combo with NAD 3050 + Bowers & Wilkins 685 S2 + Bowers & Wilkins HTM62 S2 + REL T5 subwoofer?

Hi,
From what I've seen, NAD amp, vintage look, class D amplification (like the less powerful NAD M33, 100W against 200W per channel), their amplification looks like some class AB, like my Denon PMA 110, neutral, soft , no harshness in the treble, dynamic (a little more than the Denon I think) and precise. Good association with the DMP which is also neutral and precise, no problem, gives something interesting, not upset, not sleepy. If your amp and speaker combination suits you, no problem, given the neutrality of the DMP and its pleasant, non-brilliant highs.

When I bought the Denon, I hesitated with the NAD M33, the latter has an integrated streamer and Dirac, which the Denon does not have and listened to both on Focal speakers, opted for the Denon (personal taste) ....
