Eversolo DMP-10, new release 25 october

The smart move by Eversolo is that they didn't touch the low-end price range of the hiend audio but at the same time they used some of it's markers.
It's understandable that they don't have the brand to do so and the Asian origin doesn't help as well (Holo has the same problem) .

However, one can find them both at traditional dealers so it will make it's way to some systems for a listen and comparison with stuff like Melco.Aurender,etc.

I find it pretty useful and use it for almost everything.

The screen on the unit illuminates and displays the changes,

Just quicker with the remote volume, mute, input.

The Node and the Node Icon not only offer Dirac Live but also
- MQA Labs QRONO d2a Technology
- THX AAA™ Headphone Amplifier Technology

These technologies will certainly be introduced by other manufacturers sooner or later.
The Marantz LINK 10n will probably be the next to receive Dirac Live.

I would not buy anything else with MQA anything on it.

This will reduce your choice of possible devices in the future.
The new MQA technologies will also soon be implemented from other manufacturers.

You're the first to tell me this, usually people leave it in the box since the App exists on phones and tablets. Tastes and preferences.

I think it's much easier with a remote compared to the app as well. But me and @Purité Audio are getting old I guess. :D

I use the remote for the dmp-a6 and also for the wiims all the time. Volume control, pause, next song, switching inputs, etc.

Much faster than bringing up the app on my phone.

I only use the apps to start something playing or to switch to something else on a streaming service.

I would not buy one of these devices that didn't have a remote control available.

Pricing is a joke IMO.
Really the A8 was close to perfect for me, but it missed the mark significantly when it came to sub integration.

This has dual sub outs and no doubt HPF/LPF with delays, just what I want, and if the pricing had been marginally more (I'm thinking more like if the device had been akin to an A8 mk2), then I'd have more than likely gone for it and sold off my Schiit to pay for it.

But, they seem to have gone stupid on the rest of the device and spec, like the screens and chassis (nice as they are), and now it's priced up not far short of an M66!
To me at this price it's missing the point that I believed a brand like Eversolo stood for, which was to disrupt the BS hifi market and offer products that give real features and performance for excellent value. Now, they are IMO just seemingly another also-ran.

Looks like the wait continues, hopefully Primare will come good with a DLBC pre amp that they alluded to next year. Yes it'll be expensive also, but if I'm spending ~£4k on Eversolo, I'd prefer to spend that elsewhere on a Primare for example.
I wouldn't risk the NAD M66 at that sort of money either given their horrendous reputation (experienced first hand) and the poor user reports so far (e.g lack of proper & safe HT bypass is an instant no).

From the beginning I was told that they intended initially to produce an inexpensive product and then more expensive products with higher margins would follow.
Higher margins interest more retailers, more retailers more sales= successful company.
Having said that I took them on hoping they would remain full featured and inexpensive that hope was dashed pretty quickly with the ‘Master’ edition of the A-6.
Wiim appear to have inhabited that reasonable cost/full feature position, XLR outputs Wiim please.

Proper & safe HT bypass is possible via BluOS presets. This has never been a problem for me on the M33 in over 4 years. The M66 even has the option in analog mode of bypassing the BluOS latency of at least 50ms, which not every surround decoder can compensate for.

What does this have in terms of functionality that the cheaper ones doesn't have?

Sub, expensive box and better power delivery (which you may or may not be able to hear - probably not). DAC stuff is just marketing.

In short, if I summarize correctly, today, a preamp with two XLR sub outputs and real bass management... there is only the Anthem STR with ARC and the M 66 with DLBC... the two sub outputs of the A10 are just there to sell to suckers...
