AsciLab C5B Review.

When will/should that model release? (for USA orders).
We had planned to launch worldwide this year, but with the addition of the entry-level F Series and higher-than-expected sales within Korea, we aim to address these aspects first. Once resolved, we plan to launch worldwide in January or, at the latest, February next year.

This does not provide hope that these will be available any time soon to the USA market. We need more options like this, but I waited until the last estimate came and went.

Thank you!

Many people are very eager to order and try, and the measurements and many tests look very promising.

A personal note: even if you dont manage to do worldwide distribution in the next 6-8 weeks - wich is totally understandable, please keep an update every 2 months or so where your next projected supply date hope to be.

I think many people like me are willing to wait as long as it takes, both for the product but for me personally also to support an up and coming producer, as long as there is some form of communication.

I love the colour schemes! I havent seen the complete line up yet, but can you please please please include a purple option, as in The Purple One from Minneapolis?

They literally just said Jan to Feb, how impatient and unreasonable can you be. They're speakers not a kidney transplant, you'll live.
They also literally said September or October at the latest. I am allowed to be skeptical, and just because they do not fit within my time frame, doesn't make me impatient. It's disappointing and seems to be a great product.

As I see there are 2 drivers on the back
Where would be the ideal placement in an average room?

Lol ok then.

"why doesn't this company revolve around meeeee".
This place doesn't get better by attitude like this. You just made the ignore list.

I hoped/waited for Christmas too, since they did mention September or October back in July. Now they want to launch a new F series in Korea in stead of international marked? What if it sells well too?

I bought another Genelec set in stead, I want music for Christmas.

You can put them 5cm/2in from the wall without a problem. Putting them close to the wall also reduces boundary interference.

My major concern is Ascilab's manufacturing capability without loss in quality, not the product itself.

C and As sold in SK had rigorous tuning of each and every tweeter for better distortion in the XO region.

IMO they can continue such efforts with the A lines, as supply of purifi woofers are limited worldwide.

But for all the C and F? I really have no idea.

Hope everyone gets the first and best quality! And Asci makes tons of $$$ from the sales for further research and exotic products.

Small boutique manufacturer new to the market - patience is required, targets being missed is an expected part of the process.
If thats not you, then you maybe better off buying something from your local audio store.

I think many people just underestimate how and when to set up a global selling product.

First you need to make sure you can produce your high quality product in series. Then predict sales and invest in a number of batches comprising several hundreds. That takes a lot of investment and a lot of contracts, legal stuff. Then you need to find the network. Then you need to figure out all the local legislation about sales of products. Then you need to have the legal deals with and distributors done. Even if Ascilab will be selling straight to customer the product itself needs to be packaged, needs manuals in several languages. A Webshop. Etc. Etc. Just thinking about it makes me want to say: no thanks. Then they have to cater to guys like us when we want dates, dates. Can we have it for christmas?

If they are clever, think about a running sales line target date at the end of 2025. That would be fantastic. Better to take slow steps and make sure every step is well done than to rush into things and get into lots of problems, bad publicity.

Gonna be honest here, I'm disappointed as well, but I've also never seen a small company branching out into a new activity meet their timeline for the release of a product.

You just base a timeline on your best guess of what can be done in how much time, and you add some slack. But the reality is there is a long list of things you discover you have to do in order to sell a product that you couldn't have predicted because it's something you've never had to do before.

You could also add a year to the timeline "just in case", but there's no better way to kill enthusiasm as you share development stages which is extremely not desirable as a company, so you end up sharing the aforementioned flawed timeline.

From my perspective, aside for personal disappointment, I think things have been going fairly smoothly for Ascilab as far as product release goes. If you want another way to look at the situation, while Ascilab is failing to meet the announcement they set for you, they are primarily failing to meet the objectives they set for themselves.

With the other ‘new’ speaker companies I have been associated with everything has always taken longer than expected.
From every perspective I would rather they get everything right first time.

Great measurements. I would like to see this speaker and performance without dropping below 3.5 ohms. 2.2 ohms will be challenging for most amplifiers.
