AsciLab A6B Review

This is that 'small margin of error'.

He just corrected that small margin to basically nothing.

Don't get me wrong, EW makes the best microphones. But one time calibration just don't go forever.
4dB is not small for a post-calibration measurement. Out of the box, yes. But after calibration? Not so much. 4dB is huge.

Just in case you missed his EW measurements.

Very nice. I hadn't seen this. Thanks for sharing.

But it also reinforces my thoughts. The absolute widest discrepancy I could find in any of the charts shown in that post within the 20kHz range was about 2dB on one of the charts comparing uncalibrated measurements.

4dB difference still seems wrong. But also, it only reached 4dB difference at about 18-19kHz, so maybe it's not exactly the end of all things precise and orderly But it's still within the range, so I'll keep feeling uncomfortable regardless.

Looks and sounds very nice!

I would prefer the passive woofer at the back because of the wall distance, is not the same in most home's

Which design is best for speakers placed closer to back walls and 2-3ft from side walls to avoid bass boominess?

What distance from the back walls are we talking about?

I believe its called "room correction".
I have that now with my Buchardt A10 but have not used it in the new placement location. I'm going to try it this week, need to find my microphone.

I'm thinking the least correction that is done the better, that is why I like sealed speakers or front ported etc. I

will 3e-audio a5s amp drive these effectively? The A6B seem to have low sensitiivey and probably crave lots of juice to be driven properly.

I'm really curious what the tweeter is. My guess right now is a custom ceramic dome version of the SB26ADC...

I know Asci are keen on SB, I am pretty sure they would tell you, they like their designs are transparent.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I can't tell from the photos/videos: is the passive radiator on each side of each speaker, or just on one side?

If it's on both sides, would this speaker be a bad choice if the edge of an OLED TV was pushed up all the way to the side of the speaker, between the front of the radiator and the front baffle (i.e. so it's not touching the radiator, but pushed up to the side right in front of it?

The PRs are mounted on both side.
If they don’t touch the TV, then nothing matters.

You may have a little bit of interaction between the wall and TV and having a "barrier" of sorts.

More importantly, the TV being so close is going to behave like a bit of a baffle for frequencies that wrap around. There may be a sensation of more bass and mids.

Yes. Near wide surface makes the baffle step different. My answer for @bergfe was about PR hitting the TV or not.
