Just picked up an A08 pro and really like it. Tone controls are very smooth sounding. I don't care that there is no disengage or flat indent. I am 74 yrs old and don't ever listen to any music flat. I must have tone controls.
Has anyone disengaged the meter or it's LED/Lamp? I listen and watch in a darkened room and dislike the meter light and the useless meter. Instructions would be a big help. I'm not technical but have assembled a couple of Hafler kits ( now you see how old I am), so I can follow good instructions. Thanks much in advance.
The pragmatist in me is forcing me to mention black electrical tape for some reason :)

I wanted to make a correction to a prior post. The T8 goes from -10 to 10 for bass and treble. For some reason that post does not show an option to edit anymore. Is this an automatic anomaly occurring when the paginator went from 14 to 15, or after additional responses editing is disabled ??

I have an A07 amplifier. Question - does it make sense to buy an A08 Pro? I'm not interested in looks or power, just sound quality. After all, they are both on the same chip and, apparently, should sound the same. Who listened and compared both, please tell me whether it is worth buying the same sound in a different box?

I think the better move would be the new Aiyima with PFFB You may notice a degree more in over all sound quality over the standard A07 and A08 but I cannot guarantee that personally.

Hello!

What is the normal operating temperature for this Amp?

I have used temperature measurements – 47C°. Amp was just the dormant state about 2 hours without connected to sound source.

Temperature is almost independent of volume – 51C° after 1 hour of use about 50% volume via Bluetooth.

So I see the problem when power turning on - the needle deviates towards 20% volume without input signal. Please see photo.

I use now 48V 8.3A PFC switching power adapter. I also checked 48V 5A - needle still deviates. Needle not deviated with 24V 2A.

I think its abnormal. What is the reason?

I got a feedback from Aiyima factory engineer: " The deviation of the pointer is due to a certain current when switching, which is a normal phenomenon."
That's phenomenal! Let it be Ok
Let me know if anyone has an arrow that doesn't deviate with power supply 48V.

Hi guys! Could you please suggest if this amp will work with wharfedale evo 4.4? I have it already but didn't test it yet, awaiting for my wharfedale to arrive... Meanwhile I also thought about Topping pa 5 or pa 5 plus, but the seller told me they won't be enough and I should take pa 7... So I am a bit confused...

I have a couple of A08 pros. I see no reason yours would have any issue with evo 4.4. Evo's impedance isn't too low and the sensitivity is high.

What do they mean not enough, is it a power thing ?

I have two pa5II and one pa3, do sound very good. The price / performance ratio is excellent

Who knows ) They say these speakers are very demanding for a powerful amp and suggest to look for something more powerful... maybe just trying to sell more expensive one to me )

Nice looking speakers! The specs don't suggest that these are difficult to drive - as commented above: sensitivity is 89dB (quite high) and minimum impedance is 4.3Ohm (not low) ... sounds like an overly enthusiastic salesman

Well, so today my Wharfedale evo 4.4 arrived. I made the first testing with Aiyima a08pro. What should I say... Well, it works, and middle volume is OK to listen to, but it really feels like they need more. Even I have 48V power for my Aiyima... I don't know how to discribe even... They sound well, but there is a feeling like it would be better to give them more power to show themselves. Maximum volume on this amp is loud but also OK to listen to, so not so loud really. So my conclusion is that I'd better look for anything more powerful for my speakers... But what - not sure for now ) They say - take some vintage, like Marantz pm7200 or something like that )) But I don't know ) Don't have so much money left to get super-amp, and afraid to buy something that won't be really better than aiyima... Maybe will think about Topping pa5/7 plus or A70...

Can I suggest that you go carefully now, don't jump into expensive changes.

Firstly, take some time to enjoy your new speakers - play some music. Get accustomed to them; we often hear differences in 'new' things just because they are new. You need to settle down with them.

A new amplifier can give more power, but you need a LOT more power to go appreciably louder. Even then, when you listen at your preferred volume level then all amplifiers are using the same power and it doesn't make any difference that they can go louder / provide more power.
An unused Watt us just that - unused. If you don't use it, it's also a wasted Watt.

Listen for a few days. Read the Aiyima review again, where some people suggest turning up the tone control slightly to counter some load dependency in the amp. See if that makes a difference, it might not.
Experiment with speaker positions, that can make a big difference.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions! I will def try to give it time to show itself. I know I need time to let the speakers and the amp being both brand new to warm up for some hours first... So we'll see ) I'll report later on results.

Guys, maybe you could also suggest any idea to me: What I like in this Aiyima is tone control and BT. Of course BT is nothing about the sound quality, but it is just so easy to use! And when I think about any other AMP to change - I always start to think how to solve this problem: If an AMP doesn't have tone control and BT are there any solutions to add it to the system without quality loss? I listen to LP so I have LP-phono-AMP-speakers system. Maybe there is any simple gadget having tone control+BT or only BT to add it as a preamp? Or how would you suggest to solve this? Or maybe ut would be easier to forget about tone control and just get a BT decoder with RCA out and just plug it as a second device directly to the speakers?

I'm surprised to hear that. Do you have and idea of how loud you are needing it to go ?
Do you have other amps to try it with ?
I did find an old Denon DRA-335 at a thrift store that blows away my A08 pro but that is in quality more than anything.
Do you have a pretty good pre level feeding your A08 pro ? If you have any CD players, I would suggest trying that feeding your A08. my experience is, CD players have a really good line level.

Maybe I am just too quick with judging ) Need to give the system more time to warm up and show itself...

Do you see plenty of needle movement on the VU meter ? I must disclose, I am a low level listener, usually happy under 70 db.
How big is your room ?

The room is small 3x4m. Regarding VU - I will check again tomorrow. I am so new in all this )) Just starting to explore.

I have a quad 909, keeps up with the purfi models no problem - cost £500
I built a quad 405-2 from china boards on ali express, cost me £120 to build, keeps up with the Topping PA5 II no problem. 100 watts x 2 rms output - good sound
Loads of TPA based boards, ice power boards on ali express with built in power supply - £99
