Hi Amigos:

It has been for around 2 years after we release TPA3251 and TPA3255 series amplifier DIY kits with post filter feedback design that improve the overall performance of the single chip itself.
With many buyers(diyer) enjoyed our diy kits and having so many fun from their own diy project or share to many other members. We know that there are many users also interesting on some finished unit that without involve deep diy experience but still maintain some entry level like op-amp change base on their private favorite on the expected sound quality.

Along with out diy kits was reviewed by ASR, there are also some people are interesting on the high performance, high quality, high maturity design implementation that we are keep moving forward with our mission, with this background and our past experience, now we are planning to build a fully new finished amplifier that combined with our successful experience on DIY kits and learning from other great brand.

This new finished amplifier will more focus on a pure amplifier, with high-performance, high-quality design but keep a simple form factor to achieve a better cost performance.

  • Include both TPA3251 and TPA3255 SKU
  • Most of the design are leverage from diy kits but integrated with more feature as one finished product that plug and pay easily.
  • TPA32xx chip configured as PBTL per channel to achieve best audio performance and thermal efficiency, providing higher current driver capability that can support 2ohm load.
  • Input buffer Op-amp use DIP-8 footprint given more feasibility for user perform different op-amp anytime, which is the funniest of this amp in terms of diy capability.
  • Launch schedule - Q3/2024
  • With and without PSU options (no need to buy a new one if you already have one)

Congrats! Any estimate on pricing with and without PSU?

anyone has questions no matter technical or nor-technical,we will note it down and summarize into one doc as a general product brief update.

Thanks. Very interesting.
I guess you will provide a GaN brick PSU 5A/10A ? Any info about this ?

I also imagine that you modified the design of the Audio module 260-2-29A by modifying the inductors too? Too bad you cant bridge it...

Price target ?

PBTL as in dual chip, one TPA per channel, also for 3251 variant?

Finally it really looks like the Topping PA7 plus.
Almost same design and same spec.

The PA7 operates in PBTL with a dual TPA3255 chip.

Nice! (circa -107,5 db SINAD seems a bit optimistic, but anything better than 100-102 is already great)
Very happy to see this device coming out!
The PSU is an important factor.
The pricing vs Topping/ Fosi/SMSL/Audiophonics offerings is crucial...

excellent news!!!
All the very best.....
I personally want this to be success over PA7/PA7+ :)

Looks like you have nailed all the necessary features to offer flexibility surpassing Fosi or Topping: top of charts SNR; balanced -and- SE inputs; 12v trigger -and- auto signal sense; volume pot -and- fixed bypass. Most of the competition forces some compromise among these features.

Agree that SpeakON would be a desirable option (but I understand that binding posts are vastly more popular).

Had this been on the market already perhaps I would not have DIYed my own multi channel amp of 3E modules.

  1. provide both 48V/5A and 10A GaN PSU
  2. the coilcraft inductor on 260-2-29A change to a smaller one but still keep the same performance, due to both cost and space need to be lower and smaller when integrated into aluminium chasis design.
  3. both TPA3251 and TPA3255 config as PBTL per channel.
  4. no speakerON,no remote,same as items 2, cost and spacing,more focus on a pure 2.0 amplifier

absolutely, this is the intention we build it along with some diy user really want a better feature amp, but cost won't hit far away.

If you want to be the technically superior TPA3255 amp vendor don't follow Fosi down the changeable op-amp path, just choose the best performing part for your circuit. The kind of people who believe in magic are not your market.
While I agree that "rolling op-amps" is scientifically equivalent to horoscopes and fortune cookies, MOST of the people in my life get excited for irrational unscientific things and spend their money accordingly. The dip8 socket cost just a few pennies and (crucially) does not hurt performance so why NOT indulge the purple unicorns who surround us? Just please 3E do this quietly with a terse engineering statement in the specs (dip8 socketed opamps) without illusions of magic as FOSI does. Few engineers are bothered by accurate (even if pointless) specs, but many ARE bothered by claims directed towards magical realm.

"PBTL per channel" Should we understand that the module will have a dual chip like the PA7 plus or not?

right, actually TPA3251 not need to be PBTL per channel as its output power is not very high, this is why PA5 use one chip for 2 channel.
but in our design,we share one PCB with both TPA3251 and TPA3255 to reduce complex for manufacture,in another word TPA3251 is a little bit over design.

Makes sense )
BTW which op amps will be provided (stock) ?

OPA1656 in plan, maybe consider also provide NE5532P option like other brand did as it is much common and reduce few dollar that some people may care?
any suggestion?
