3e Audio A7 [TPA3255 PFFB Stereo] Finished Amplifier - User Impressions | Owner's Thread

I just received a shipment of 48V/10A power supplies. They are huge and heavy, almost as big as the A7 mono. I didn't notice any changes in the sound On the less pleasant side... Just when I received the shipment, the price per unit dropped in the 3eaudio store by almost a third...

My understanding is that the 48v/10A is mainly to allow the amp to be 2ohm stable. It shouldn't have any impact on the sonic qualities of the amp, which is why you wouldn't notice a change in the sound.

I know, I know, I was trying to be sarcastic :D

Not so pleasant for you, but maybe for those who couldn't decide on buying yet: It's not only the 48V 10A power supplies that had a huge price cut.

There's a summer sale for all 3e Audio models from A5se to A7 Mono on AliExpress now.

I don't think it's a price cut, I think it's just been put on sale for a period of time. FWiW, the A7 is now on sale for $297 CAD, and I paid $390 CAD...

That's why I wrote summer sale.

Even a temporary price cut is a price cut, no?

My god... my eyes didn't move past the first line, I'm sorry :facepalm:

Yes, for sure. Depending on when they ordered the power supply, maybe they could contact 3e, and see if they'd be willing to offer some kind of rebate/refund for the difference.

No sooner did the special offer appear here than the reduction has been slashed ... I wonder if there is a connection. :confused:

Could be just me, but I can't find any results for 3e Audio A5 (or a7) on AliExpress even

I can. And I did, less than one hour ago, at least.
All A5/A7 and the A5se and A7se.
So strange... It's the same in the app (where I'm logged in) and on the website.

Edit: it works when adding "amplifier" to my search :p

In my case the Fosi V3 monos were a total disaster so I ordered the 3e audio A7 stereo version. I should receive it tomorrow. I was wondering about power supply upgrade but I guess the included 48 volt 5 amp power supply is completely enough. Thanks.

I think they have said that the 5A power supply is good for speakers 6-8ohm, and the 10A is good for basically 2-8ohm.

Hard to hear the difference from stock Opa1656 to Burson V7vivid.
Pc> Topping D70 pro octo> Topping Pre90> 3e A7> MA Maop11.2
I guess it's all bragging rights
For first time ever changing L and R, 2 opamp do nothing, have you tried changing the opamp at rca to xlr, mine is like superglue.

Hello everyone!
Just registered to ask respected experts here for advice - on which of below devices should I preferably adjust the volume in my setup, considering minimal signal loss and the best sound quality? (auto-off function on A7 will be disabled as it is the new revision)

Wiim pro --> coax -->
Fosi ZD3 dac --> xlr -->
3E A7 -->
Onkio D302-E speakers (4 ohms, 83 dB/W/m)

In view of above discussions in this tread I am tend to use Wiim for volume control, fixing it both on dac and amplifier. Many thanks for your opinion!
