Why anyone born after 1940 would want to live with the aesthetics of the Tannoy speakers is hard to imagine. Fits the fuddy duddy aesthetic in my mind. Or the snooty ruling class aesthetic. But I have plenty of monied friends who might like them. Yuk. My pretentious ex-wife might have liked them if we’d had room.

Too big for my room, but I like ‘em. Classic design endures.

On the other hand I’m amazed that many here can live with the aesthetics of a studio monitor. Blech!!

Cant’t say I *love* the look of my Neumanns, but I can tolerate their honest “form follows function” looks, I’ll take that over many of the too ostentatious design efforts.

Wouldn’t mind classic Tannoys either, mind. :)

Most of the speakers shown in this thread look hideous to me. I have the good fortune to find my KEF R11s to both sound wonderful and look ... well ... unobtrusive.

Same for me, the more they try the ugliest they look, not just not looking good, ugly. I never realized that before this thread, I have 2 dedicated music room with the speakers right in the middle of the rooms, cannot miss them or you will stumble on them. Lucky for me one pair looks a little like those Kef, with the grille on and a nice wood finish, also lucky the sound and where I look is beyond the speakers, so not looking at them, thirdly I like to listen with eye closed or room in the dark. All those with the apparent tweeter/woofers, are abominable, put some clothe (grille) on those.
There is an exception, only one pair in all that were shown that I like to look at and find aesthetically pleasing.

I find this to be one of the more grotesque things I have ever seen. It is not inherently ugly, but in understanding materials, and developing what I consider to be refined taste in my years, appreciation of subtlety, and sense of hierarchy of quality as related to materials and design, this speaker is the antithesis of refined. I wouldn't be surprised if that speaker was made by a deranged clown. I admit I like the black version and when I was first getting into high end speakers I thought it was the coolest thing ever. This however is the work of a troll.

It's like a Trump rally that melted in the sun.

Bose 901 from 1979. Most beautiful? Don’t think so… Iconic? 100%…

Just curious, what speakers do you find attractive and why?

For me, my home theaters are in my living room and the looks and the balance are as important as the actual sound (even though I have 20,000 hours with them).

I'm going to start the list with the Triangle 40th Anniversary Comete in Santos Rosewood for obvious reasons.

Two things I do not like to see on speakers are glossy finishes and big logos.
