Most beautiful speakers in the world ?

I love that speaker as well. I wonder though since the house was started in the late forties and completed in 1950. I was thinking it was using these JBL drivers from JBL's 1948 catalog.
Perhaps the speaker was a consequence of Eames' involvement with the house.

It is someone's definition of audiophile.

This is another person's definition.

Sense of superiority or dismissiveness:

  • The line "It is someone's definition of audiophile" could imply a certain level of dismissal or invalidation of others' interpretations of what constitutes an "audiophile." The tone may suggest that the speaker considers their own view of what "audiophile" means as more valid or accurate than that of others.

Philia means "love" in Greek. not knowledge nor science. "The love for audio" is emotional and hence irrational. it doesn't need a definitition, it just defines an irrationality.

I am generally not a fan of Brutalism in architecture, but I actually like that speaker... purely as sculpture. I'm not as swayed by their other designs.

Speakers inspired by that style: :)

One more. I suspect this is an AI generated image. That is to say: AI design me a speaker that looks as if it came out of the art style X. Those of you who tinker with AI can try to do that.:);)

I suppose it could be taken that way, but the intent of my post was to show that an audiophile's equipment can range from the most simple to the most complex... nothing more was meant to be implied.

Nice thread, that is!

As a kid – and for reasons I can not fully recall, further less even faintly understand today – I had deeply fallen in love with some advertising pics of the Electro Voice Sentry 3

Funny that I still can remember that crazy phase :)

I really like Art Deco, and I also like Art Nouveau... the Jadis Eurythme speakers would be an example that has roots in Art Nouveau.

My GF banished my Everests stating that they were Art Deco and she didn't want that style in her living room... I was sad to let them go, but I made the right decision. She was the keeper.

You and me both... they just looked badass!
Pretty sure they weren't particularly wonderful, but those speakers looked cool.

I agree with that. :)

One might suspect that modern interior design styles will influence how wireless speakers will be designed. Or rather, they already do.
Then we'll see how many speakers blend in with trends for 2024 or, since this year is almost over, will blend in with next year's interior design trends.

Maybe more colorful speakers?

It seems to be becoming more popular with:
Interior design trend 1: Colour, colour and more colour
In 2024, we will see how the red colour is used as everything from accent colour in interior design, to taking over larger spaces in the home. Although neutral shades are among the colour trends in 2024, the colour chart is significantly richer in colours than in previous years. And according to Pantone, it's Peach Fuzz that counts.

Honestly, some loudspeakers are so ugly. They would probably drive me out of the high-end hobby if I had to use them.

Please don't post AI content.

There you have a point. No more AI speakers from me in this thread.

Then there is the question of whether and, if so, how much designers, regardless of what it is, take AI to help them in the creative process. To get inspiration and ideas, that is. Presumably very common but that's a topic for another thread. :)
Ä
The top one clearly also. Look at the screws holding the drivers. Dead giveaway.
They don't look quite real. Or it looks a little weird.
