Most beautiful speakers in the world ?

When I was a kid I designed and built boats. When I became an adult I designed and built speakers. I think that designer is me on another timeline.

In the eye of the beholder as they say. For many of my age who were children or teenagers when Luxor's Transmission Line speakers Luxor 8071 came out on the market, they were considered cool and therefore automatically beautiful. 
Not the most beautiful in the world, but they were considered beautiful. Nowadays I can say that they are nostalgically cool. Classic vintage design with wide baffle.
Luxor 8071 TL speakers has had a bit of a resurgence in recent years due to the vintage craze. BUT I strongly discourage anyone from buying a pair. Most people have long since had the 10 bass driver replaced with a little whatever, or random bass driver, so you don't know what you're getting, how it sounds.
On the other hand, for those who want to rebuild, fix them, maybe.
I know there are those who have rebuilt them to either a sealed or a ported speaker. They are about 70 liters so you can get good bass with them, with the right type of bass driver and new construction. Then you may need to consider replacing the mid and tweeter + new crossover + and so on. Which means that you basically make a new DIY three-way speaker with them. So a pretty extensive project just to keep the speaker boxes.
This is what they look like:
(for those who don't have any nostalgic "can't afford to buy them memories", they can probably on the contrary seem rather ugly )
Slightly different drivers, apparently, in them:
Measured on axes FR and distortion (with original drivers):

The first photo is taken from right behind the listening position chair.
Speaker locations absolutely dissolve in an enveloping soundstage, as wide and deep as the recording itself permits.

With these full range line sources reaching from ceiling to floor, it doesn't matter much if you stand up, sit down, or even lounge in the sofa to the far right corner in the room - the balance essentially stays the same and there's a nice left-right impression even way off-center, almost like with a real performance.
It could need some support for the lowest octave, still, but that'll outrage our neighbours, I'm afraid.

interesting, so you basically listen to the side of the speakers, but they are calibrated and corrected to the shown degree only in MLP? What are those drivers?

Listening angle to the drive units is at about 30 degrees.
The in-room directivity pattern is less pronounced than under unechoic conditions, but see manufacturer’s graph anyways:
Drivers are 25 Visaton FRS8M 8 Ohm version, 5 groups of 5 paralleled units in series to effect 8 Ohms series resistance.
Really! In the photo labelled listening position it looks more like 60 to 70 degrees to me!
I do like the installation though

If you want to decorate with vintage speakers, there is an inexpensive solution.
I would like to hear a continuation of this discussion when the wife gets home.
-Honey I know you said you didn't want those big old speakers in the living room that take up space so I didn't buy them. I have solved it in another neat way. You'll see when you get home what I did.
