JBL Stage A130 Review (speaker)

I have decided to buy JBL stage a130 speakers and now I want to know, should I choose Fosi Audio v3 or Aiyima A07 MAX?
Is there any difference in sound quality between v3 and A07 MAX? Who is better?
Please help me, thanks.
I personally would recommend Fosi v3. Both Amps are reviewed here.

Thank you. I can get the V3 for less, but I like the look of the A07 MAX better, which makes it a bit of a dilemma for me.
The most important thing is sound quality and quality, and if the V3 is better than the A07 MAX in those two areas, then I won't hesitate.

I have been using these with the A07 for awhile. Any of those TPA 3255 amplifiers should be good.

I have a pair of JBL Stage A-130's in my basement for FREEEEEE. I live on WI/IL border. I have been meaning to put them on our local regional Neighborhood website, along with a bunch of other collective speakers and a Denon AVR.

Thanks for the offer, but unfortunately I live in China.

The day before yesterday, I received the Fosi Audio V3. Yesterday, I finally got the Stage A130. Today, I can't wait to share my excitement.

Previously, I used the PreSonus E5 and Genelec 8010. The 8010 clearly sounded better than the E5. As for the A130, I feel its sound quality is on par with the 8010, even though I haven’t had the chance to make any adjustments to the A130 yet.

Considering the price of the A130, I’m very satisfied with it. I hope more people will choose this speaker and enjoy high-quality music at an affordable price.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that I’m using the Chord 2Qute as my DAC.

Finally, please excuse my poor setup environmen.

I am using the v3 monoblocks with my a130s. It sounds fantastic!

Hi everyone,

I tried Amir’s EQ settings suggested in this thread, and I can say the difference is night and day. It seems to me another speaker and closer to my Nore X headphones tonality I’m used to.

Now I’m using an active subwoofer and I set the cross over point to 45Hz.

Some time ago I read about someone here who suggested using a filter in order to manage all the low frequencies entirely to the subwoofer, so as to lift the work off of the amplifier (and maybe also of the speaker?) and thus obtain lower distortion level.

But how do i do it? Where exactly is this filter applied?

It's more about taking taking LF work off the speaker than the amplifier. If you look at the distortion plot for 96dB you'll see it's fairly clean above 100Hz but rises a lot below that. If you hand the work below 100Hz to a sub you get lower distortion out of the main speakers.

Where it's applied depends on your system. AVRs and a few other amps and streamers (like Wiim) include DSP to do the crossover between the main speakers and a sub. In other cases it could be a crossover between a preamp and power amp. Studio subs usually have the crossover built in, with outputs that could be sent to a power amp to drive the A130s instead of the usual active monitors.
