Do you ever miss the Maggies?

Yes. They are in storage right now but they are the speaker that I have been the happiest with for the longest time. They are MG-III’s that were restored at the factory to use the modern glue. The original III’s have the correct “pole forward” orientation, etc.

The only reason I swapped was that I went to “A Star is Born” at the theaters, where I was in a new construction, well calibrated theater and I was sitting a bit too close to the screen. Talk about dynamics!

The Magnepans were in a dual use music/HT setup where HT was more popular. So I swapped to the JBL S/2600’s which wasn’t as good for voices or acoustic music but could generate the dynamics of the theater better.

My office where I do listen to music, I end up using various monitors.

No sadly. They were really old designs. They still sell them but I think they are the cheapest in their lineup. The M-T-M bookshelf ones.

I'm just glad my Genesis purchase and the subsequent crossover failure both predated my marriage.

Now I learn that Paul McGowan worked at Genesis when my speakers were made.

I don't know about all Genesis speakers, but mine were absolute garbage. Complete shit. I'm embarrassed to have persuaded myself to like them.
