I wonder why they only use 4.5 inch drivers
Because it seems there exists an internal bet in the "high end" loudspeaker industry, namely who will sell the smallest loudspeaker for the largest price. ;)

Saw this and though it's a visual upgrade over the previous generation (and I know emotiva markets towards the home theater crowd), man I wish emotiva would come out with another color other than drab black. So many excellent speakers out there ruined by aesthetics.

On that note, seems like a bit of a missed opportunity for a slim center channel. I'd give up a lot bass extension for a decent 3-way or coaxial center channel with a horizontal orientation under 6 inches in depth. Especially since, unlike hi-fi listeners, most home theater users will be using a sub.

This is cool. I've been wanting to see more "flattish" coaxial drivers. We all know KEF is great but all their speakers have the same narrowish directivity. I could see this performing more like the technics sb-C700 and it's much wider directivity. But who knows

Emotiva did an extensive talk (40min) about this lineup, 2 weeks ago:

Also, about 1.5 months ago, Emotiva announced they are doing fulfilment in Canada and Europe, directly now. Meaning, we won't have to pay extra for things like duties, when shopping at Emotiva website. Since they are a USA-based company. Great news!
