Oh well, at least you don't get warts from the equipment. Are you surprised? Look at the divorce rate among audiophiles. ;-)
You are supposed to kiss the missus not the gear.

A section of the 1990's Sony of Canada Service Agreement with service depots was the cleaning section. It stipulated that all units in for service will be cleaned with an ammonia solution. To sterilize the exterior of the units in for repair.Oh well, at least you don't get warts from the equipment.

This thread is really going south..
I bet that is to protect against pathogens that don't cause warts.A section of the 1990's Sony of Canada Service Agreement with service depots was the cleaning section. Lots of 4" thick absorber 24x48" panels set up on legs around the room, and the ceiling having several panels and a lot of diffusers. Kind of eerie sounding in there. I love it!DIY damping or commercial products? And to what extent?
Yes, I believe so. I always had clean hands..I bet that is to protect against pathogens that don't cause warts.
It's a fraud like any other industry where you can't prove or disprove anything scientifically
Like the cosmetics industry
If people believe the product is magical they would pay anything for it
I guess it depends upon the assay. What makes you think that cosmetics don’t work?

I just got two kf92, and honestly the fraud feels complete
Is my music slightly better? Sure. Is it actually worth what I spent? Nope.
I have two also. My music is more than slightly better and movies a lot better.
More important question is where is the fraud? The boxes do what the manufacturer claims: they are very small, play low and loud in medium sized room.
But are they worth the money I spent? Nope.
The stuff aimed at bizarre facial decoration works great! The "anti-aging" segment, on the other hand, is 100% snake-oil.
Indeed the night and day differences people describe when upgrading already competent gear are absolutely ridiculous. Would I call it fraud? Maybe not, but overstated fir sure and I get your point. The fraud is exactly the same in both our last sentences.
Watch YouTube videos, the extension, the depth! The transients! The warmth! The sound stage.
To this day I have yet to understand what sound stage actually is.
Reality is we spent over 5k for a slight lower end extension. Probably added 10% to my experience.
I’m at this moment done with audio in general. There’s nothing more for me to invest in.
