I got both the eversolo dmp-a6 and the matrix mini-i4. There’s no saying otherwise, the ever solo beats the matrix in terms of a streamer standpoint but it sounds lean and bright. On the other hand , the mini i4 sounds more full bodied. I’m a bit torn because I like the ever solo as a streamer but I like the sound of the mini i4…
Perhaps the Matrix is broken in some way, Amir measured this model, which wasn’t .

So where is the newest update hiding? Nothing on EverSolo website about the newest 2. whatever update I believe mine is 1.80 but when I hit my button on updating it, it still says up to date on the screen.
It was pushed to me today and updated with no issues.

Can I safely power on/off the DMP-A6 via this device/trigger?
I do not think it is safe to do so... then it depends whether Android is booting or running out of flash / memory image (in which case it would be safe, as no data corruption should happen)

Thanks. It's not a big deal - I can just push the button on the front. :)

Be aware that, AFAICR, the A6 does not have a true stand-by option (I think it just switches the screen off for good), so you will actually have to go through the switch off procedure (if you indeed want / need it to be really OFF).

I am okay with it going to sleep - which I assume Android does when I just push the button and it says its shutting down. Takes a bit for it to boot up but nothing so inconvienient that I'm going to complain about it. It just would be nice to have an actual way to tie into my power management and turn it on/off system with rest of my system. Thanks for replies.

Hi, Sorry but I don't quite understand, as a streamer function alone are we talking about state of the art? or can I aim for the best? auralic for example?

Stare of the art having said that your Mac/PC are also state of the art.
Like so much in our hobby there is a huge amount of BS.

surely, I saw that you are the owner, I listen for hours, tests are often not done over a long period of use, have you found consistency in performance over time? I'm talking about 8/10 continuous hours.

Since 3rd party apps can be installed, is it possible to install any of the Android EQ apps available?

Hi, Currently I have an Arcam AVR 550 amp, D&D 8C Amplified speakers connected with a mini SHD DSP to benefit from stereo or 5.1 listening with the ARCAM amp.
I don't like the "volumio" player supplied with mini DSP and that's why I would like to buy another device that will replace it with the same functions.
EVERSOLO DMP A6 seems very good to me, but it is missing the RCA inputs so that I can connect my Pre-Out outputs from my ARCAM.
Do you think it is possible, with an adapter, to connect to the digital input of the Eversolo DMP A6?

A 'connector' would mean a ADC .... (analog to digital converter) ....

The Wiim pro plus has analogue ‘in’.

Not sure I understand - you are looking to replace the streaming functionality (Volumio)? If so, try a Wiim, or use Roon, since the mini (and the D&D) is already an endpoint. Why would you want to connect your pre-amp outputs to a DAC, and how does the streaming software play a role in that?

in “5.1 cinema” mode, my effects speakers (central, atmospheric, subwoofer and rear) are passive, connected to arcam and my 2 amplified speakers are powered when switching to the rca position of my mini dsp shd.

in stereo mode: Mini DSP, I use it as a “QOBUZ” player or Flac file player on my NAS or as a CD player, without turning on my ARCAM.

My current problem is that I cannot block the volume on the different inputs (especially on LAN) because several times I have had to launch QOBUZ just after watching a film and have the volume at -3.5 dB (which is the setting for my HC listening) while for Qobuz, I am more on -35Db.

Volumio is my second problem.

Thank you very much for this review, Amir!!! Seems to be great value compared to my Volumio Primo Hifi. Since a remote is not provided I wonder, how responsive and reliable the OS and the App are.... This would be the reason for me to buy one (despite this really gorgeous display of course).

Any experience anyone?
I personally find the Eversolo app to be fast and easy to use. It even allows you to cast the unit’s display to your phone!

Love the facilities on this device. And yes a remote would have been an excellent addition.
You can buy a remote for less than $20, but I use my phone and it works great! An iPad also works even better.

Thanks @amirm !

Excellent performer, and quite a competitive newcomer considering the features it offers.

They claim it (edit: Audiophonics did, they just corrected the spec for "LCD") to be OLED . I know this would be somewhat polarising choice for many, but I don't consider it to be an issue in realistic use cases.

It is a just released product, not even yet in stock at some Eversolo distributors. ;)
So far only Amazon carries it. Or you can order it directly from ziddo.tv, no sales tax and delivers from an Amazon warehouse. Mine came in overnight.
