How strange that vinshine or pardo don’t provide measurements
I would certainly like to see measurements of the DMP-A6 after modification with the Vinshine LPS (I think it's a cool almost plug-in modification that isn't too terribly expensive (even if it is not really needed ;)) . He claims that Noise from the power supply is reduced by a factor of 10 beyond the SMPS. Although I'm sure it would not make any difference in audibility as the stock DMP-A6's measurements are already beyond that threshold, the replacement LPS (if his claim is accurate) should most likely make some improvements in measurements as far as Noise is concerned; and that's what ASR is all about.

Weird that Denafrips’ Vinshine Audio has been doing videos and articles about Eversolo DMP-A6, especially when they’ve just released their own streamer, ARCE.

Now they’ve worked with LHY Audio to develop linear power supply specifically for the DMP-A6. Of course there’s a business opportunity here, but still seems like they’re focusing too much to a competitor’s product.

Here’s the article:

And the video:

I don’t know much about power supplies, would an LPS improve the DMP-A6?
The noise measurements shown on the product web site have no bandwidth or spectrum given.
In other words, what were the frequencies of the ripple of the two power supplies ?
Be aware that the raw power supply output noise may not even be an issue for the circuits downstream as they probably have their own regulation stages anyway ?
Show Spdif output or UBS jitter before and after as well as improved S/N on the Analog outputs and I'll believe this makes a difference.

Also they need to fix the USB power limitation. Makes this unusable for many !

Sorry, I don't have time to read 121 pages. What do you mean for usb power limitation?
The only reason, for me, to buy it, would be the possibility to connect it to a mac mini with Dirac.

I did a diy LPS modification a while ago. My approach is a bit different from beatechnik even the LPS core is also coming from LHY. Since i only intended to use the A6 as a purely transport, i'm not concern too much about the DAC and analog section. The way I implemented the LPS modification is only feeding a +12V LPS but eliminated the -12V power supply. I do believe the approach from beatechnik is more comprehensive which feeding both +12V and -12V regulated LPS to the A6 taking care both the digital and analog portion as a plug and play solution.

I don't have any testing data showing any improvement. In my system to my ears the difference is a better imagine separation, more details and i wouldn't feel tried for hours listening even in a higher sound pressure. The bottom line is I had fun with what i did for the LPS modification.:)

Not correct, vinshine shows these measurements,

Eversolo DMP-A6 Switching Power Supply:
  • Test Equipment: Audio Precision APx525
  • Load: 1 ampere
  • Noise Level: 679.2 uVrms

Beatechnik LPS-A6

  • Test Equipment: Audio Precision APx525
  • Load: 1 ampere
  • Noise Level: 56.68 uVrms

But does this shows that the audio noice floor is also lower?

I do not think so.

They do not show these measurements:

It is USB 2.0 spec. The USB 2.0 specification allows Hosts to deliver 5V at 500 mA, for a total power output of 2.5 watts. USB 3.0 and 3.1 allow 5V at 900 mA (4.5W).

I assume he means USB powering devices like external Hard Disks
fwiw, Usb-> PC is working just fine
Below is the written explanation from the vendor (Beatechnik Pte Ltd) regarding the LPS power supply for Eversolo.

"I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for your interest in our LPS-A6. With our LPS-A6, you can still use the internal DAC of A6. Rest assured, our LPS-A6 is more than capable of powering up your external hard drive or SSD without any hiccups. However, I'd like to bring to your attention that connecting multiple external drives simultaneously might overload the LPS, potentially causing it to run hotter than usual. I hope this clears things up for you."
