An artist I follow whose output is consistently 'different' as of now - rather that in the distant past - is Takashige Miyawaki, better know as Juzu or J.A.K.A.M. Discogs entry here. I'm sure many styles that were once new and different, like dnb or broken beat or dubstep or grime (etc.) are now commonplace.

If I had to pick one track that I think highlights Juzu's style, it would be Pray (Bandcamp link). A lazy description would be "a hybrid of house and world music".
