Looking to connect my Naim 2 channel power amp (nap 200 equivalent - which i use for dedicated 2 channel only music listening in another room) to the 3600h. Reason being, I need a pre-amp for the Naim as the naim is not an integrated amp and so there is no volume control etc and i figure the 3600 can take all the sources i could ever want to play through the Naim (streaming spotify, cd player, NAS, etc).
Q.1 Can i just connect the Naim to the 3600h zone 2 preout rcas? Is that the best option?
Fyi, the naim is listed as 0.7v sensitivity to deliver its 110w rms per channel, which will keep me under the 1.5v pre out sinad drop off mentioned in this thread, yes?
Nb the 3600 would still be doing 9.1 in the main living room (although not at the same time).
Q.2 IS there a better way to connect this up? Eg am i better using a digital out from the 3600 and piping/sending that into the room with the Naim in it? I guess this depends on the quality of the inbuilt dac/preamp section in the 3600 and so whether to use it or just take a digital out and feed to something better? Topping etc. If i used the digital out, i take it i can still use and send everything connected to the 3600 to the Naim inc streaming?
Q.3 will my zone 2 naim system benefit from the 3600's Eq? i.e can i eq zone 2 seperate to zone 1 using 3600 audyssey? I dont see any way to save different eq settings?
q4. I gather that if i connect rcas to the zone 2 preouts to feed the naim, that the internal amps of the denon will still be active on that channel and the 11 channel 'hack' will not be of use as that only disables the 3600 amps on the main L&R channels, correct?
Any thoughts? Main objective is Naim sq. And if i can use the 3600 and save buying extra kit then all the better. I would spend some cash if it gave me a noticeably better sq, eg buy a dac to use from the 3600 digital out.
