Probably. But @elberoth does what he wants with his money. This is a very esthetic system he's got.
Once he isn't here to explain how much these cables (or these marble pedestals) sound better, I'm OK. ;)

Sure. There are times when I challenge both physics and common sense. :)

SMPSs don't really care about emi on the mains supply, but maybe they do send send something back over it? That would sort of justify the power chords... They are ugly though, unlike the rest of the setup!

Let's not have a fight with everyone please. @elberoth is a good man, having posted measurements and other good bits.

No fight, just gentle taking of piss.

Thanks guys for the kind words. This is the room:

And this is one of my fav pics - Nords (doubling as speaker stands) on the Vitus SM-103 monos.
New tech vs old. 4kg vs 75kg. $3000 vs $60.000. And I think, ultimately, I prefered the Nords.

The comparison in size is just insane!

Very nice. You preferred the NC500 or the Purifi? When they break in please let us know your thoughts.

@elberoth , Do you have any topless pictures of the Purifi NORDS (or any chance of you taking and posting some) ???

Also, what are the black things on the amplifier ends of the power cables ?

No I just bought the "purified" ones. Those are the regular Nords, based on NC500 modules.

You can buy any mains wires you want, but a 5 ton (60,000 btu) air conditioner is run off 3 conductor 10 gauge solid which is sold at Home Depot. That's 220v and 30 amps, enough to fry anything else, except an electric oven.

Off topic, about a few of BBC speakers history like the elberoth's Falcon LS/5.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LS3/5A

2014 – 15 ohm LS3/5A back in production

Falcon Acoustics was granted a licence by the BBC for the 15 ohm version of the LS3/5a in 2013 and commenced production in 2014 using drive units produced in-house by Falcon Acoustics. The Falcon F B110 bass unit is a re-engineered version using the same components of the original KEF B110 SP1003 with a doped Bextrene cone and a neoprene surround. The Falcon F T27 tweeter again uses the same components as the original KEF T27 SP1032 and has a 19mm mylar dome fitted. Both Falcon units were designed by Malcolm Jones who while employed at KEF between 1962 and 1974 was responsible for the design of the KEF B110 and T27 units originally used in the LS3/5 and LS3/5a. Both units are graded/selected to meet the BBC specification. Crossovers are close tolerance pair matched versions of the original BBC LS3/5a crossover design [4] using tapped transformers for high frequency adjustments. [25]

Appolon Audio just listed their first Purifi offering!
Monblocs only, as the time I'm writing:

PURIFI-1ET400A-Front-Isometric-Pair.jpg

PURIFI-1ET400A-Front-Isometric-Pair.jpg

Start at 1190€ per unit, ex VAT, plus shipping.
(For my concern: 2901€/pair, taxes and shipping included.)

Ps: Oh, before @maty starts to mention it: No EMI/RFI filter! ;)
