Wiim designed it to be perpetually on, as mentioned here:Always On
Have been enjoying the WiiM Amp Pro for several days now. Absolutely no complaints; its performance and features are exemplary. One question, though: mine is located in a relatively inconvenient spot so I've left it turned on continuously.
Is there any demerit to doing so? My best friend in college was an EE major and he always left his components on 24/7 – said there was less wear that way. And this was long before Class D. Any thoughts? How does the stand-by function work?
I think it's not possible at the moment. However, this has been already requested several times to the WiiM Team so I guess it's a matter of time (not sure how much) until it gets implemented. Enjoy the amp!Is there a way to correct for the room first and then EQ for the music style on top of that?

Those 15 kHz distortion products/harmonics were perceived with the AP's 45 kHz bandwidth, which our (or at least, my) ears do not possess.I still have doubts however, about the rise in distortion with higher frequencies. It's a common Class-D 'flaw' that only few seems to be borthered with. At first you see 100dB SINAD which is nice, but at the same time THD+N is -65dB @ 3watts and -55dB @ full power around 15KHz.
How does this compare to Marantz M1/stereo70s/PN7000N?What I found better on Amp than on Amp Pro is volume button. Amp Pro don't have steps while volume changed. I like steps, because I "know", that +3 or -4 steps is what I need, but it is not big problem, especially, while I don't use it too much
But I must say that with Amp I was not happy (after tens of settings), with Amp Pro am enjoying it with basic EQ presets. And I still don't started tune output, RC, PEQ Amp Pro (for me and with my speakers) is really better than basic Amp.
Doing this on my wiim pro (not amp). Not sure why the amp would be different, but I could be wrong. Can the Wiim Amp Pro be driven as a UPNP endpoint device from Foobar with the FOO_UPNP_OUT plugin ?
Does it support DSD or only PCM ?
Kinda interested to "see" how it fares against my Loxjie A40 connected as USB DAC/AMP
I suppose there are plenty of alternatives. What was important to me was the comparison between the Yamaha and the WiiM.
