Do you have an Amp with balanced inputs or studio monitors, or do you see yourself upgrading to one in the future?

Then get the E50.
Just RCA, I want to use it as a desktop DAC via RCA on my integrated amplifier or just go with an integrated amp that has a dac inside.

Says in the manual I can disable the remote control :D Not sure why this is an option. Is it better internally for that last 0.000001% performance?

Anyway, just received this today as an upgrade from the original E30.

I re-read the manual but there was no mention of such a thing.

A useful function if you only want to use it as a DAC without accidentally changing anything.
It also prevents it from reacting to other remote controls.

So I did the unthinkable and, uh, accidentally switched the power cables for my amp and the (original) E30. So now the DAC shows E - d, which I assume means it's dead. Any reason to not go with this new version and pop it into my setup? I saw something changed with the power, does it still require you to connect it to a phone charger?

Because not everyone uses a remote control, perhaps. (I am an example of that [I need all the exercise that I can get]).
In my mind it's just more clutter. (I have more than enough clutter in my life) But perhaps it's needed to access some function because they made it so that is the only way to access some functions.
