For decades this song was played in all military quarters when conscripts would finish their mandatory service. A service that was compulsory for all young men to do for about just under a year (longer for some). No salary. You only received a small symbolic amount of money.
In the early 1990s during my last week of military service it was played over and over again.
MUCK, is an abbreviation for call-out in civilian clothes after completed military service. I can promise that listening to that silly song put everyone in a good mood. The desire to defend the country was and is there, but it was only the fact that it was mandatory without payment that made this so-called MUCK so long-awaited.
I easily get in a good mood when I listen to music, but I want to be in the right mood for certain types of music.
