Songs with Epic Dynamic Progressions - Calm & Beautiful to Intense

Ebbs and flows on an upward trajectory

There are probably too many to mention in the world of classical music, but 3 off the top of my head:

The transitions (which are gapless) from the 3rd to 4th movements in Beethoven's 5th and Sibelius' 2nd symphonies are both wonderful progressions from darkness into light, and the final movement of Beethoven's 9th just builds and builds and builds.

Here’s a few in a genre I think you’ll enjoy

This is just two tracks from “Jon Hopkins - Ritual” but the entire album is meant to be listened in its entirety as it builds from nothing to a crescendo then back to nothing

Another Jon Hopkins as he’s the master of the slow build

Yeah….i “really” like Jon Hopkins…..

Max Richter is also good at such musical world building

Gorecki - Symphony No.3, "Symphony of sorrowful songs". First Movement.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned a Rossini overture. William Tell and The Thieving Magpie are but two of several that fit the bill.

You said any genre...This is not at all like the samples you opened the post with.
But if it is possible for a metal song to accomplish what you stated, this is it.

Jade Warrior
The Last Autumns Dream third album especially but their whole approach other than one much later album
The Island box set of instrumental only is excellent

Nils frahm.

Unreal, that man... I saw him a week after I saw the Chemical Brothers. While I love the Bros. and it was a bucket-list show for me to see, Nils Frahm had me absolutely floored. Really simple and elegant arrangement of elements that allowed you to see what he was doing with (well, most of) the instruments and the effects boxes, etc. Did he bring the armonica with him? :D

His songs go places. Staying relevant to the thread:

Yes brought armonica, had two horseshoe shaped banks of instruments next to each other. Kept darting about setting them off. Even looped audience animal noises in one track. An Orchestra of one.
